Agreed, Pak should just mine/fence/and use sensors on the Afghan border...leave a few entry/exit points for trade and legal travel points(heavily guarded). Though I'm in favor of Pak acquiring the Wakhan Corridor...preferably through a purchase and not through invasion. This would provide Pak a more direct route to Central Asian states and break a direct link between Afghanistan and China, which would increase the significance of CPEC for Afghanistan. Afghan politicians can be bribed with hefty amounts of money to smooth the process along. In my opinion if this deal can happen, Pakistan can easily secure its western border, shutting out any Indian plans of propping up Afghanistan against Pak. Already being landlocked and being cutoff from China(in case of Pak having Wakhan Corridor)...and relying on Pak for both of those cases...Pak would have a significant edge. In case of any hostilities, Pak would be able to choke Afghanistan from key resources shutting down any possibility of a prolonged war.I think we need to be careful here. Even if invasion of Afghan terrain has occured we should utilize this opportunity to mine and fence the relevant strip while in control of the next hilly point. This might be considered legitimate and protective.
Anything more and we are being asked to do what USSR and USA has not managed to do and neither will we. We have meagre resources and the curse of terrorism can be sorted by a controlled border. The rest is a US affair and let them deal with it.
