What's new

Is Hasina’s Bangladesh at war with itself or Pakistan-lovers?

Why should I believe you? I met a young Bangladeshi boy once in Oman, a very nice boy, not much educated but he could speak in broken Urdu and I did not see any hate in eyes for me being Pakistani. He would prefer sitting with me in my office all day and sharing how his country is like.

The conception of Bangladesh is based on despise against Pakistan from core of the hearts. There are people who personally don't hate Pakistan but on national platform everybody 'must' hate Pakistan to be a 'Bangladeshi'.

That was past, most of the people from the generation that was hateful to East Pakistanis and the generation who started an armed conflict for their own separate land have met their fate by now (I guess) so what drives a young Bangladeshi to hate Pakistan now? Hoisting of Pakistani flags by Bangladeshis in a India vs Pakistan match in Bangladesh is not that something to tell something?

Just poke him next time about his view on Pakistan and see the result. That is why I say more or less hate. There are tons of other issues Pak is just another. Most Bangladeshis will go well with present Pakistan but bitterness will come out if brought old issues. People will just avoid things probably or engage in their present issues. Hasina doing thousands other work and this hate issue maybe 1 so your attention came to that particular issue barring all others. And Bangladeshis are talented they learn everything quickly. Urdu isnt issue as Hindi channels are dominating here.

I won't be meeting him again I was there for a limited day visit. And I did ask him about Pakistan, nothing in his reply suggested that he resents or hates Pakistan or any Pakistani.

Always came across good Bengali folks now and then very polite and peaceful

My parents had me learn Quran from one Bangali teacher when I was young kid flunking recitation, the gentleman was very knowledgeable , once upon a time in gulf country where South Asian teachers are hard to find

My parents always greeted the Bengali teacher with a lot of respect etc perhaps the reason was it was their generation that witnessed the 1971, to my parents perhaps they understood the Bangalis were once their fellow citizens, lost brethren taken away by conspirators

Don't really care about Ms Hasina or anyone, west Pakistan will not be forgotten , however I respect the present day Bangali residents as they have a shared history with Pakistan

Hasina has done well for her country.

Bangladesh is showing economic growth faster than Pakistan. People are being lifted out of poverty and into industry.

And Bhagwan kare, Bangladesh continues to do exceedingly well..their economic growth rate rises higher and higher.

Supporting Pakistan in sports is religious as players are Muslims, not love for Pakistan. Hoisting Pakistan flag is absolutely forbidden. That's a crime in Bangladesh. Burning Pakistan's flag is common in Bangladesh though.

As I said earlier they are 10%. JeI and BNP's fraction. They became powerful and influential as they ruled the country from 75-96 and 2001-06 for 26 years based on religion and corruption. And some % Hindus also want to hoist Indian flags but fear backlash.

A handful can burn Pakistani flag compared to a stadium full of Bangladeshis raising Pakistani flag.

Well to these ruling members , hate is means to win elections.

Some times when ruling party fears awakening in the minds of youth they use force , or act or visual acts of force to scare the young mind.

I don't see Bangali any different we live in 2016 now

Pakistan should stay out of it. If this continues the Bengalis will be caught between the trap of India or China; if not between the demands of India and their own wish to remain independent. India doesn't have a good history of getting along with weaker neighbors.

That's absurd. So Bangladeshi nationalisms core belief is racism? I think you should stop peddling this lie and also anyone who says this. Only AL patriots believe to be a true Bengali is to hate Pakistan. Or I can say the rest of population has no hatred against Pakistan and Pakistanis.

As we say in Pakistan "Aa Ker Meri Taang Tor Lo" (Come and break my leg if you have the guts to do it).

That will never happen. Hasina is a very powerful leader in Bangladesh, not because she is pro-India. She is way more influential than her rival pro-Pakistani Khaleda. There is a reason why Hasina is way more powerful. Its because of her stand against Pakistan lovers. :big_boss:
