Our society isn't what the American society is all about. There's a huge difference. "Religion" and "Culture" play a HUGE role in our country. By all those standards, there's everything wrong with a Pakistani woman dating a Foreigner.

but it would have greatly imporved her chances of becoming a future PM of Pakistan

AFAIK the party she is part of currently is very small compared to the others and it has no chance of becoming the single largest party in the elections

so if she had got married to Bilawal and become part of the PPP, she could have contested and won the election as PPP candidate

Fatima IMO is far more deserving and capable for leading the party than Bilawal [though we know nothing much about his political abilities].

Since she is married to Bilawal, she could be the one leading the party rather than Bilawal. So when she becomes older, she could beomce PM of Pakistan from PPP instead of Bilawal

IIRC I had read somewhere that even Benazir Bhutto married Zardari because he was influential and politically strong, which helped Benazir, a woman, to become PM.

Dude you don't understand the political implications, her political career would be over. Benazir Bhutto knew her political destiny, she lived in European countries, yet none of her old acquaintances has come forward and spoken about any of her old boyfriends. They all say she was quite modern, stood confidently in the company of other men but never flirted or dated anyone as per her Pakistani traditions... Some US senators and congressmen who were her classmates give this testimony.

She was ultra squeeky clean and to the world at least, a virgin when she married Zardari. Thats how a woman got into politics and won the premiership of a conservative country like Pakistan. It's not fair but thats the way it is.

Pakistanis won't vote for a woman that has dated around...

Zardari was a slum dweller compared to the financial status of Benazir. She was very reluctant to marry him, but gave in ultimately since a single woman wouldn't have been accepted as PM but a married woman would. Zardari was just in the running for husbandship at the time of course and they had some family ties, but social status wasn't it.

Billawal and Fatima can't get hooked together due to another taboo in Pak society where the woman must be younger than the man. Billawal is like 20 and she's 25. Oh and she was very very critical of Benazir's politics. Neither BhuttoZardaris nor the living Bhuttos would've been a fan of any such union since they are political rivals not allies.

Dating in Pakistan is more like what you in America would call "sneaking around". No one approves of it. But it goes on, all the time. Most of them are not sleeping around but just talking and perhaps holding hands or something. Its almost always very serious and the dating couple only comes out when they are ready to be married.
