Why ?
Haven't we learned the lesson yet ? there is no such thing as a good taliban or bad.
I have never said anything about good or bad taliban here. I share the fact that at some time, probably when we have dealt with those organizations like TTP we will have to face the Lashkar E Toiba's and Haqqanis (among others).
But what is visibly clear is we must seek to maintain our interests first and defeat those organizations first which pose a threat to us rather than going after the others until we have dealt with the biggest problem. It is utter, I must say utter foolishness to go after the Lashkar E Toiba when we cannot eliminate or beat back groups like the TTP or Lashkar E Jhangvi.
It is not about good or bad taliban it is simply about priorities, about chasing down and eliminating those groups that pose an existential threat to us then go after the Haqqanis Hekmatyars and Gul Bahadurs. We face terror attacks every week at the hands of Lashkar E Jhangvi and the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan. When we are still not able to eliminate them then why take responsibility for beating those groups which are more of a threat to Afghanistan and India?
Haven't you gone through Gen Sharif's vision, that no one except for the state will be allowed to use and own weapons
Target killing and roadside attacks have been used by the Taliban with deadly success. If we replicate their ways and kill them in their own ways. Don't we have assets in Waziristan, elders and lashkaris who have lost loved ones? It is about using your head-not going charging around like a bull. There is and should be a strategy behind every move.
