Is capital punishment a deterrent for rapists? : We the people on NDTV

Deterrence for a rapist is the ability to bring them to justice....if we manage to do that we will win this war...There are many studies which shows that there are higher chances rapers will kill their victims if there is a capital punishment involved...b/w these are the two factors which are working in favor of the rapers

- Baggage involved with Rape : Social stigma is still huge which deters victims to come forward...Moreover we still are not in terms with the importance of being extra sensitive to the victim post rape...
- Lack of convictions : Biggest deterrent for the victims...Imagine someone has to go through all the stigma and yet her raper go scot free???

Sorry for wrong quote, I look like a stupid now.

But same law is being used to protect the rapists now. If you cant prove rape, which is very difficult anywhere including islamic countries, the victim will be flogged for adultry, are you saying this does not happen?

mis-implementations of law is another thing..as i mentioned witness for rape is not a condition,but to prove adultery/fornication 4 witness is condition,(not applied wen confessed!) and if u cant provide witness those who committed adultery cannot be punished..coz Islam doesn't allows to judge on "shak" suspicion
INSHALLAH u will c true justice of Islam under true Islamic state soon..besides one can challenge gov for anything they find wrong or mis-implemented..
