Is Bangladesh army really have 732,000 personnel?

According to wikipedia page of Bangladesh army,BD army currently have 260,000 active personnel and 472,000 reserve personnel totaling 732,000.

We know that at present BD army has 9 division troops with various other independent formations, while another division is being raised in Barishal which will be inaugurated in near future.So 260,000 active troops seems correct.But what about the figure of reserve troops? 472,000 seems exaggeration.What do you think?

As per global fire power BD has a reserve of 22,80,000. BD army webside is being very modest.

IMPOSSIBLE. If that was true then Bangladesh would have very Huge Budget to maintain such a Headcount as Army Personnel without Arms and Ammunition are USELESS on the first Place.

Reserve is counting Ex Army personnel.
And counting BGB,Ansar & VDP, college university cadets we have huge manpower.

It is roughly correct, you need to add the 70000 plus BGB and the huge number of ansars etc to the total. So 700000 is quite close to the total available trained manpower at a given time.

In Bangladesh they count reserve not by comitted rotating armed Units/personnels like the US National guards,rather personnel with training,who can join the rank when an emergency arise.

aside from the regular army formationas,BGB has nearly 80,000 personnel.And also currently 20 Ansar Battalions are aiding the army and police in their regular operations in Chittagong hill tracks.Ansar has 37 operational battalions.In any situation Ansar can provide with 22,00,000 trained man.

Also the Range reserve force Under the command of Police Range DIG maintains a certain number of paramilitary police battalions in every police range.

Then BD also has 11 Armed police battalions and a huge number of BNCC cadets.

So I don't think the number of 4,72,000 reserve is impossible,though there is lack of clear information about their organizational organogram.

Pakistan maintain 617000 troops in army with 4 billion dollar allocated for army.So it is not impossible for Bangladesh to give salary to 260000 troops from 2.4 billion dollar defence budget.Arms purchase have separate funding then the defence budget.Defence budget in Bangladesh is only for salary and maintainance cost.

Pakistan has 585000 REGULAR but also have other Irregular Military Units as well and the total Headcount could reach close to Million considering Regular Army units and Irregular Units like Para Military while on the other hand that person was saying Above 700,000 Bangladesh Army Personnel. Bangladesh Economy could be doing good but they are still quite Behind in terms of Economic Indicators like Total GDP, Per capita etc. So its still remain Impossible to maintain such a Huge Military under those conditions anyways.

Pak has over .5 something regular troops.... Paramilitary units etc like FC-FC-I,Sindh And Panjab Ranger,Scouts etc come under ministry of interior which maintains them from its own budget...

Bangladesh needs 450000 active Army also massively well equipped one
