Not unless US is willing to see their time, blood and money wasted in Afghanistan and going to gutters (they were not there after OBL only and it is not possible they spent more than a decade to find OBL only) and assuming that Chinese will enjoy the show on sidelines when their strategic investment is at risk of destabilization, and there are signs of major shift between China - Russia relations. Gone are the days when someone alone could simply kill Army Chief and Air force Chief in a plane crash, a lot has changed and is changing on daily basis now.
People may blame Nawaz Sharif for many things but he has learnt from his mistakes a lot, he has realised that by sharing power he can still fulfill some of his dreams, there may have been some differences in the beginning but now Civilian government and Forces seem more like on the same page and respecting each other. NS himself is loyal to Pakistan's interests I will have to admit that. However, I cannot say that for sure for people like Zardari and Hussain Haqqani.
Further today if rangers openly can give a shut up call to people calling for strikes in Karachi, it is not just because Pakistan alone has managed it, someone in UK have also lent their support or may have withdrawn their support in our favor.
The real question in my view that we should be asking today is, why the hell Afghan Government, Afghan Taliban, ISIS are on the same page when it comes to Pakistan? ISIS is a sectarian terrorist organisation then why Pakistan should feel more threatened by its presence in Afghanistan than Iran? And how long we are going to take before we start ignoring Afghanistan and seal our borders?
