Is Air Defence career in PAF good?

And introduce yourself in introduction section.

My father was in the Air Defense branch. He served as OC 486 Squadron 1987-1988, CRC based at PAF Chaklala since November 1985 this Squadron has been exclusive assigned to the task of defending Pakistan’s nuclear installations. Served Sector Commander Southern Air Command and Northern Air Command. Served instructor Dundridge College UK teaching foreign officers of AD branches. Only active alert brains can take to this branch.

well guys...i think alot and now i decided to apply for AD in PAF....INSHALLAH hope soo I will join it ...

Great decision, ADWC stands for Air Defense Weapons Controller. there plenty of branches with different type of responsibilities. very active lifestyle all over Pakistan and overseas, if deputations are still in practice. from mobile radar posts to fight controllers, working very close with Navy from Masroor, BBU to kahuta..etc...ADWC are eyes and ears and everything need to to Defend Air...lo hence ADWC.

As you said you have weak eyesight so it going to be problem as GDP. But honestly speaking a pilot or group of pilots when flying in air, this is really thrilling, moving fast killing the intruding aircraft, but pilots know limited range of information beyond the dogfight at that time, and dependent on ADC.

Where ADC not only set the ground for a dogfight to happen, their information and awareness around is far more greater, it is really interesting and thrilling to conduct a fight, take care of fighters and help them land back safely having pride to fight with pilots as well.

I will recommend you to join PAF in any way, but being a GDP or ADC will really gives you a fighting taste.
