DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran warned neighbouring Pakistan on Saturday it would “pay a heavy price” for allegedly harbouring militants who killed 27 of its elite Revolutionary Guards in a suicide bombing near the border earlier this week, state television reported.
Revolutionary Guards chief Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari also accused Tehran’s regional rival Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of supporting militant Sunni groups that attack Iranian forces, saying they could face “reprisal operations.”
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE deny backing such militants.
“Why do Pakistan’s army and security body ... give refuge to these anti-revolutionary groups? Pakistan will no doubt pay a high price,” Jafari said in remarks live on state television.
Jafari was addressing a large crowd gathered for the funeral of the victims of Wednesday’s suicide bombing, which took place in a southeastern region where security forces are facing a rise in attacks by militants from the country’s Sunni Muslim minority.
“Just in the past year, six or seven suicide attacks were neutralised but they were able to carry out this one,” Jafari told the mourners, who packed a square in the central city of Isfahan and roads leading to it.
The Sunni group Jaish al Adl (Army of Justice), which says it seeks greater rights and better living conditions for the ethnic minority Baluchis, claimed responsibility for the attack.
“The treacherous Saudi and UAE governments should know that Iran’s patience has ended and we will no longer stand your secret support for these anti-Islam criminals,” Jafari said.
“We will avenge the blood of our martyrs from the Saudi and UAE governments and ask the President (Hassan Rouhani) ... to leave our hands free more than ever for reprisal operations,” Jafari told the crowd, drawing chants of “Allahu Akbar” (God is Greatest).
Iran’s Shi’ite Muslim authorities say militant groups operate from safe havens in Pakistan and have repeatedly called on the neighbouring country to crack down on them.
Jafari’s remarks came amid heightening regional tensions after Israel and the Gulf Arab states attended a summit in the Polish capital Warsaw this week where the United States hoped to ratchet up pressure against Iran.

Your Wish Granted .....My Dear !
india iran have such agreement since 2004. They can use iranian bases. I hope iran don't want to get itself become a collateral damage in any confrontation between two nuclear powers.I do not know about the first part, but the second part is false because no military aircraft have the right to use Iran's soil unless agreed upon for services such as refueling and repairing the aircraft.and even then the aircraft should not stay longer than 48 hours.
You don't even have any levels, just a desperate stray shouting to get some attention.
In 1971 you needed muktis to watch your backside, in Kargil, you needed a superpower to pull your neck from under our boots, in essence you don't have the capability to stand up and fight your own wars, 2002 and 2008 being prime examples when you succumbed to being confined on the borders for a whole year losing a thousand men in process.....and talking of ancestors, check pre and post 1947 maps of your country as how we carved it.
And don't forget who your forefathers were in essence.

NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha member R K Anand on Wednesday claimed that
contrary to the government's claims, Pakistani forces were still in
occupation of six key Indian positions in Kargil sector including
Point 5353 in Mushkoh valley.
Accusing the Army authorities of indulging in "cover up operations",
Anand demanded a five-member all-party parliamentary committee visit
to Pt. 5353 to ascertain the factual position.
He claimed that besides Pt. 5353, five other key features -- Point
Aftab-1, Point Saddle Ridge, Point Bunker Ridge, Shangruti and
Dhalunag in Mushkohvalley and the Kaksar region were still occupied by
Pakistani forces and from these posts, Pakistani troops could target
the strategic Srinagar-Leh highway.
Anand claimed that reference to any grid map of the area drawn by
Pakistani and Indian generals in the wake of 1972 Simla agreement
would clearly show that contrary to claims made by Director General of
Military Operations officers, Pt. 5353 was 300 to 500 metres within
the Indian side of the LoC and not on no man's land as claimed.
"The defence erected by Pakistani forces on Pt. 5353 means that enemy
forces can hit Drass town, its military helipad as well as paralyse
movement of Army and civilain convoys on Srinagar-Leh highway between
Zoji La pass and Drass", the MP, elected with JMM support told
reporters here.(PTI)
Pakistan occupying six Indian peaks, says MP
Josy Joseph in New Delhi
Pakistan is occupying at least six strategically located Indian peaks
in the Kargil sector along the Line of Control, claimed Rajya Sabha
member and senior criminal advocate R K Anand.
Basing his arguments on several documents and "authoritative sources",
Anand said on Wednesday that these are strategic peaks from where
Pakistani forces have a commanding view of the Srinagar-Leh highway,
Drass helipad and several other military installations.
There was no immediate reaction from the army headquarters.
Anand named the Pakistan occupied Indian peaks as: Point 5353 (Map
reference: 490644), Point Aftab-I (499642), Point Saddle Ridge
(525638), Point Bunker Ridge (548639), Shangruti and Dhalunag.
"Point 5353 is very strategic. In 1992-93, the then corps commander
(of India) decided to make a shift pocket on this point and sent
personnel there by helicopter. The officers posted there successfully
cut off the entire supply to the Pakistani pockets along the LoC for
nearly two months," he said. The capture was in retaliation of
Pakistani attacks on several Indian posts including the national
highway from Srinagar to Leh.
He said the Indian Army then claimed that point 5353 is "within our
LoC and that we have every right to patrol the area." He said this
point offers a 40-kilometre view of the Pakistan side and from the
Indian side an attack could be launched on Drass and the Drass-Kargil
road.
However, in January-February of 1999, Pakistan troops occupied Point
5353, along with several other strategic posts. These intrusions led
to last year's Kargil war.
He said Indian troops had tried to capture Point 5353 on May 18, 1999
when army operations were beginning in Operation Vijay in Kargil last
year. But it failed.
He said, the operation was carried out by a team of soldiers led by
Major Navneet Mehta.
He gave reporters a copy of the two-page report prepared by the young
officer for his seniors on the failed operation. In that report the
major has explained the reasons why an attack on Point 5353 was
difficult. "It is not possible to carry out an assault from the
northwestern, western and south western approaches," the officer
pointed out.
Anand also made available a wireless message of May 19, 1999 where it
says "attack on 5353 called off due to bad weather" and that "13 OR
(other ranks) injured in Maj Navneet's Pl (platoon) due to difficult
trn (terrain)".
If the army's argument that Point 5353 was never India's is to be
accepted, then "why did they launch the attack?" he asked.
Recent media reports about Pakistan occupying Point 5353 on Indian
side of LoC was rubbished by the army headquarters and Defence
Minister George Fernandes. Both refused to acknowledge that any Indian
post is in Pakistani control.
Anand, who was elected to the Upper House as a member of the Jharkhand
Mukti Morcha, said, even Parliament has been told that there are no
peaks under Pakistani occupation.
He said Point 5353 is "300 to 500 metres inside our territory".
"It looks like our army commanders are wrongly briefing the defence
minister," he said when Fernandes' statement was pointed out. "The
defence minister mislead Parliament on the basis of the briefing by
army officers," Anand said, while demanding action against senior army
commanders.
He said the Director General of Military Operations had no idea what
was happening along the LoC. Similarly the corps commander during
Operation Vijay too had no idea of the dimensions of the Pakistani
gameplan. The army chief too is unaware of the situation, he said.
"Instead of holding them responsible, you promote them and give them
awards," he said.
Whe asked why the army and government was allowing Pakistan to occupy
the peaks, and did not regain it last year, Anand said there were
various reasons. "They wanted to finish the war as early as possible
as elections were coming. And they thought nobody will come to know,"
he said.
On the army's reluctance, he said if they launch operations to take
back these peaks, there will be a full-fledged war with Pakistan.
However, he said Indian forces should take immediate steps to protect
national integrity. Besides, a fact-finding team of five
Parliamentarians should be constituted to go to the LoC to verify the
facts.
Anand has repeatedly served notices for calling attention motions,
special mentions in the Rajya Sabha on these intrusions by Pakistan.
But despite repeated attempts the matter was not taken up for
discussion, he said.
Anand said he also wrote to Fernandes calling his attention to the
matter. But he did not get any reply.
The army too has been struggling to convince the media that Pakistan
does not occupy even a single post on the Indian side of the LoC. In
fact senior army officers have been holding special briefings for
select groups of journalists after reports appeared that Point 5353 of
India is with Pakistan.
Officials at army headquarters said they were studying Anand's
statement.
contrary to the constitution low of Iran, even Russia could not get a military base. it is for this reason that the constitution low has prevented this from happening so that Iran is always neutral in the wars since World War II.india iran have such agreement since 2004. They can use iranian bases. I hope iran don't want to get itself become a collateral damage in any confrontation between two nuclear powers.
