Lockheed Martin delivered a C-130J Super Hercules to the Iraqi Air Force at formal ceremonies here today. This is one of the initial three aircraft of a total of six C-130Js ordered by Iraq.

The other two of these initial three aircraft departed yesterday for Iraq. The remaining three C-130Js will be delivered in 2013.

Congratulations Iraq.

you are too big, too historic and too important for the world to treat you like this.

Rise up, Rise up and progress.

Thank you. Iraq has always been a leading country in the region ,and it will rise again. Iraq's population alone is about as much as all the GCC members combined. but many countries right now are doing everything they can to keep Iraq weak. but hopefully that will change. Iraq is developing slowly, in another decade we will have one of the strongest armies in the region hopefully. but right now there is still a long way to go especially for the Air defense.

First three arrive in Iraq

Indian Air Force also operates 6 Super Hercules:tup:

I think they're a very good aircraft and reliable too. Congrats and may you
strengthen your air force further and do your bit to maintain peace in the region.

they are excellent planes. Iraq first received 3 refurbished C-130, soon they ordered C-130J (more modern extended version)

Iraq so far has 3 C-130, 6 C-130J, and 6 AN-32. These numbers should be enough for now, They will increase in the Future. They will be used for transporting Elite units, Humanitarian relief, and transporting equipment.

Here's an image of the C-130

American Military Industrial Complex, finally getting the dividends of war.

Truth is the US would not even get 1/10 of what it spent in Iraq from the contracts. This money goes to the military industry not to the US government, other than taxes of course.

Iraq has to build its forces regardless whether its American or Russian planes.
