To put Spain and Portugal in one group is both absurd and crazy! The fact that both countries are none anglo-saxson is racists enough & the fact that they put the strongest team in Asia in there group is NUTS and absolutely racially motivated!

Actually the rules doesn't allow teams from the same confederation to be in the same group, EXCEPT for Europe i.e. UEFA.

This is how it's done:

All 32 finalists have been arranged into four seeding pots based on their FIFA ranking for October 2017.

Pot 1 will contain hosts Russia and the seven teams who had the highest ranking. Pot 2 will be populated by the next eight highest ranked teams with the next eight in Pot 3 and the lowest ranked eight in Pot 4. You can check out our World Cup seeding breakdown here.

Those 32 teams will be then be drawn into eight groups of four, with each group labelled from A to H.

Seeding Pots 1 to 4 will be emptied by allocating each of their eight teams to a different group.

With one exception, teams from the same confederation will not be drawn together in a group. So, for example, Brazil cannot be paired with another team from South America and Nigeria cannot be paired with another team from Africa.

The only exception applies to UEFA teams, with FIFA ruling that up to two teams from the European confederation can be drawn in the same group.

Yea lets put Spain and Portugal in one group who happen to have a darker skin tone than northern Europeans and on top of that add the strongest team in Asia in the same group so darker skinned countries cancel themselves and don't suddenly embarrass France, Germany & U.K.!

If you wanted to ensure that Iran that is the strongest team in Asia doesn't suddenly pull a rabbit out of it's hat and embarrass countries like U.K., France or Germany the best way to do that would be what??

In terms of FIFA point Spain is the 3rd ranked team in the world and Portugal is 6th ranked team in the world! And both countries are neighbors! So how the hell does it makes sense putting these two teams in one group at all? unless you purposely wanted to eliminate one & with an added bones of eliminating the top Asian country so they don't embarrass countries like U.K., France or Germany!

Russia ranked 65th
Uruguay ranked 21st
Egypt ranked 31st
Saudi Arabia ranked 63rd

Yea this happened by pure chance & has NOTHING to do with the fact that Russia is the Host Nation!

2nd spot a lotto for teams ranked 8th or 9th through 15th or 16th of teams that made it to the world cup (8th or 9th depending on if the host nation is one of the top 16th or not....)
And so on
For 3rd & 4 spots all you have to do is make sure no more than 2 teams from the same confederation end up in one group
