Iran’s S Bavar 373 air defense system enters service

Its not a big deal to add SAM capability to these systems, simply there is no need.

1) Pantsir does not operate alone. When one is reloading others are covering him.
2) U can see that one Pantsir was firing like crazy, still it was hit.

Dont read silly Putins propaganda.

Doing well especially against long range like Fajar-5.
Lets get to the bottom line of this- ONly reason Syria and Iran havent struck Israel directly is because of daddy US. If there was no US to threaten a strong retaliation, Israel wouldnt be what it is today. Just wanted to state this incase you were making people on PDF think Syria and Iran dont attack Israel directly because of Israel's military might. IDF cant fight for more than 30 days without US support or assistance. We know that from 2006 war, so there is no way ISrael can fight even Syria without losing or stalemate happening. Thats the tea!

It's true that western engines are more durable, I never denied it. Is this a proof that Russian alloys are decades behind? No.
Is it a proof that Russians have durability issues? Maybe, or maybe its a cost issue not to go for more durable ones.
Maybe Russians sacrifice durability for a lighter engine with higher thrust levels.
Maybe Russians operate the design at levels closer to the maximum, lower life-time but have more thrust available.
Maybe TBO would be closer to western levels if they restrict the engines to 80% power during peacetime while still being on-pair to western engines
Maybe Russian doctrine has lower training hours for pilots due to automation/IADS and simulators.

These are all factors which tell us that Russians are not decades behind, just go their own ways.

Jet Engine metallurgy requires billion of dollar of incremental investments there was indeed time when Soviets were few years behind Americans when the Soviets were pouring all of their money in defense to keep pace with americans but during 70s/80s Soviets started declining and ultimately USSR became Russia most of R&D spending was cut extensively or fully cut for couple of decades in this time Americans started gaining more and more on Russians, lately in past decades Russians again started pouring money but still they are no where close to deploying new generation engines like Americans, upgraded Izdeliye-30 turbofan engine is still no where close to be deployed on Su-57s and will still take time may be close to a decade to get fully matured that easily proves the point of difference of metallurgy lead Americans over Russians of close to 25 years.

trust me the day missiles start falling over Iran you guys will kill for getting some battle tested PAC-3s, this BAVAR 373 will be of zero use,
Iran is no where closer to USA in any technology and almost every field at least 50 years behind, this BAVAR373 is not some technological breakthrough by Iran, same things like these were deployed and then decommissioned by Soviets and Americans in 60s/70s
Seriously???!!!! Are you for real???!!! A much smaller version of Iran tech hit Global Hawk at a distance the US military couldn't believe. Even Janes considered it a significant achievement. 1 shot, 1 Kill! And nobody, I mean nobody has the balls to fire any missiles at Iran. So dream on body...….

I'm sorry to say but this is not North Korea we are talking about,we are talking about Iran just GTFO from here please

So Bavar-373 is for export :-)

IMPORTANT: In an earlier (now deleted) tweet I misquoted Brig. General Sadegh Nejad, Advisor to the Defence Minister saying Bavar-373 had a maximum velocity of 2800 m/s. That was in fact the maximum target velocity. He did not state the missile velocity.

But it does have TVC.

Some good pics of the earlier control surface configuration of bavar373.

Looks very similar to the s300 interceptor

Max target velocity and target range is that of the 48n6e2, which is among the top missiles in the s-300 system. These can handle lower speeds of the hypersonic range.
