Iran’s IRGC Forces Start Drills for Army Games 2017 in China (+Photos)

1st off in real war by the most part it's your Weapons, equipment, Intel & Tactics that wins battles NOT how fast you can reassemble a gun or tie a knot!
2ndly The IRGC Forces are NOT by any means more elite! NOT EVEN CLOSE! In fact they started out by going to the Army to get training!

The difference between Iran's Artesh & IRGC is that the IRGC has expeditionary forces & clandestine operations outside the country and the people involved in those operation never show up to international events like this! So they have more people with on field experience but by no means are they more elite in conventional tactics!

This is just another misconception because U.S. military & CIA guys would see IRGC members in Afghanistan, Iraq & Syria but they would never see anyone from Iran's Artesh on the ground so they are under the delusion that IRGC guys are more elite but that has nothing to do with it! That's just how Iran's military is structured!

The following are all Iran's regular military (Artesh)

Naval Special Forces

Army Special Forces

Army Airborne division

In fact overall in size Artesh Special forces guys are bigger and better trained in conventional military tactics that would score them a higher grade in such competitions.
If anything before Syria the IRGC wanted smaller athletic guys that could blend in when they sent them to do clandestine operations

Except for Ballistic Missiles that the IRGC Aerospace division has Iran's Artesh operates more Aircraft, more Tanks, more APC, more artillery, larger and more advanced ships, far more helicopters.....
So the idea that IRGC forces are more elite is nothing more than a western delusion!

Is there any way to compare these 2 Nohed and Saberin? both are special forces of Arthesh and IRGC , which one is better?

Takavari (Special Forces) is a training program they all go through & they all have to know a wide range of things from knowing how to fly, to operate a tank, to learning how to ski, dive, and use different weapons from snipers to ATGM,.... but after it's over they get specialized and do most of their training in a specific task over a specific terrain
Some in Urban combat, some in high altitude warfare, some in the water & costal warfare,....
So although they all know how to do all those things & know how to fight in different types of terrain with different types of equipment and weapons but after the main special forces training is over each group gets specialized to operate in a specific terrain and for specific tasks on a daily bases so their body and mind is getting trained to operate better in those conditions.

So No! One is not better than the other it's just that their bodies are being trained for different operations and the Artesh has more guys specially trained for different types of conditions & has access to wider range of heavier equipment than the IRGC so I would put Artesh Special forces guys ahead of IRGC guys in terms of some special tasks & IRGC guys over the Artesh in others

Overall I would say Artesh has more special forces & are better trained to both fight and counter a conventional military and to operate with and around a wider range of more conventional weapons where as IRGC guys are better equipped & trained both to fight & counter guerrilla warfare and tactics.
That's why to counter terrorists inside Iran the logical choice is to send IRGC guys that's why you hear more about them in the news but that doesn't make them more elite! They are just better trained to fight in those types of conditions because they are more familiar with those type of tactics which makes them a more logical choice!
Clearly your not going to send a Navy Special Forces guy who gets daily training in diving to go fight terrorist in the mountains of Kurdistan or Baluchestan

Nohed had an unimpressive showing on the Syrian battlefield when the army deployed them to the south Aleppo battles.

They walked straight into a town and were subsquentely ambushed and ended up taking casualties. They were then removed from the battlefield altogether after that underwhelming showing.

You can't evaluate an entire brigade on one incident but yes it seems Two confirmed dead few more injured but they are an Airborne special forces unit not a very logical choice for counter terrorist operations in an urban area in a foreign country where you don't speak the language and you have to fight terrorist without the logistical support your used to!

The US, Britain, France use special forces in their counter terrorism operation and yes in foreign countries (where else would you use special forces?).

So yes Nohed was def qualified for the job they just flat out failed at it. They entered a town, were subsquentely surrounded, and then attacked. That falls of Nohed for not having proper surveillance in place and not doing enough recon ahead of time.

NOHED as with "all" Iranian special forces are trained for all kinds of conditions so yes they were trained for it but what they do on a Daily Bases is jump out of Airplanes & Helicopters to counter an incoming conventional military on your home turf!

So is it their specialty? NO! It is NOT! But should they have at least performed better with the extensive training that they got? CLEARLY!
BUT I don't know the whole story and you don't know the whole story! For all I know the U.S. gave up their position on purpose & the terrorist were lying in wait but even if that was the case they should have been better prepared for that because from the start they knew that they were a high profile unit being sent into Syria for the 1st time!
