Some more photos of the 36 kilometer Tunnel for the Lake Urmia that was inaugurated by the president today

This tunnel is considered one of the most challenging civil engineering projects done in Iran. The tunnel ends into an 11 kilometer Irrigation channel which in turn will join "GODAR" river and the river will endup in the lake. just look at the size of it and it goes for 36 kilometer under the mountain.Technology that Iran learned by making all those underground Nuclear and missile cities

I wonder why instead of the bridge to Qeshm , we didn't build such tunnel there

by the way the narrowest part of strait of Hormoz is just 39km between Qeshm Island and kingdom of Oman.
if a tunnel were built there it can be very useful economical tool

most likely..cost was a factor..and Bridge more attractive for people to use rather than a tunnel.

This 13 km bridge in Canada connects PEI to mainland. Confederation bridge

cost $1.3 billion and 4 years to build and I intend to go and visit this bridge soon..lol

Qeshm bridge is only 3.4 Km but wider and costs around $0.5 billion and 3 years (I hope !!)

First time discovery in Iran of Lithium

Iran discovers large lithium reserves in Hamadan
​

8.5 million tons is the official estimate of the discovery
I made a comparison with no 1 Lithium country "Chile" and they have 9.3 million ton.

If I read this correctly the discovery will put Iran amongst top 4 reserves of the world..do not know what to make of it now but any way here is the report of discovery .

مدیرکل دفتر امور اکتشاف وزارت صمت از کشف نخستین ذخیره لیتیوم در کشور خبر داد و گفت: کشف این ذخیره در استان همدان نویدبخش کشف ذخایر دیگری در این استان خواهد بود.

به گزارش خبرنگار اقتصادی خبرگزاری فارس به نقل از وزارت صنعت، معدن و تجارت، ابراهیم‌علی مولابیگی با بیان اینکه افزایش منابع عناصر نادرخاکی و برخی فلزات با ارزش از جمله ثمرات اجرای اکتشافات معدنی در سال‌های اخیر بوده، گفت: ایران جزو معدود کشورهایی است که به مقادیر مناسبی از ذخایر عناصر نادرخاکی و فلزات با ارزش دسترسی دارد و کشف نخستین ذخیره لیتیوم در استان همدان نویدبخش کشف ذخایر دیگری در این استان خواهد بود.
وی میزان ذخیره قطعی محدوده یادشده را 8 میلیون و 500 هزارتن کانسنگ لیتیوم عنوان کرد و افزود: در جهان امروز این فلز استراتژیک و با ارزش به عنوان یکی از نیازهای تکنولوژی روز محسوب می‌شود.
مدیرکل دفتر امور اکتشاف وزارت صمت با بیان اینکه گواهی‌کشف صادره برای محدوده مذکور به تایید اعضای کمیسیون گواهی‌کشف رسیده و به‌زودی توسط اداره‌کل صمت استان همدان صادر خواهد شد، افزود: این ماده معدنی در یک منطقه رسی تشکیل شده که این موضوع ذخیره مذکور را در کل کشور منحصر به فرد می‌کند.
وی به منابع محدود لیتیوم در طبیعت و نقش حساس آن در تهیه باتری‌های الکتریکی، صنایع پیشرفته، صنایع دفاعی و تهیه و تولید آلیاژها منحصر به فرد و استراتژیک اشاره کرد و افزود: در سال‌های اخیر تمرکز و توجه روزافزونی به بحث اکتشاف، استخراج و فرآوری و بازیافت لیتیوم از منابع شناخته شده آن شده است.
مولابیگی همچنین گفت: لیتیوم بر خلاف دیگر محصولات معدنی در حجم کم و در ابعاد کیلوگرم خرید و فروش می‌شود که این امر به‌علت قیمت بالا و سختی استحصال آن بوده و در صورتی که بتوان در استحصال و تولید این ماده معدنی به مزیت رسید، عملاً ارزش افزوده بالایی را به همراه خواهد داشت.

South Pars Phase 14 refinery goes operational​

• “Phase 14 refinery is the last refinery of the South Pars
• Out of 13 South Pars refineries, 12 refineries have gone operational so far and phase 14 refinery is the last onshore processing facility belonging to the massive joint gas field
• South Pars is the largest gas field in the world shared by Iran and Qatar.

UPDATE:
Phase 14 of south pars which started operation last year at this time was officially inaugurated today by the President

This phase 14 produces $ 3.5 billion dollars revenue annually.

More than 70% of the material and equipment of this phase was built in Iran

At sea extraction of this phase has 44 wells, two 32 inch under the sea gas transfer pipeline 105 kilometer long

4 gas extraction Rigs

In addition to refining various natural gas products this gas refinery also produces a million ton of liquid LPG ..Liquid LPG is a more superior product than LNG

The only remaining phase of the giant South Pars field is Phase 11 which is currently under construction.

Iranian built water desalination plant starts operation in Bushehr

You can see the plant in the poster below..more of these plants are now being built by the private Iranian company (MAPNA) along the Persian gulf coastlines.
در این مراسم از آب شیرین‌کن گروه مپنا در شهرستان بوشهر با ظرفیت ۳۵ هزار متر مکعب، آب شیرین‌کن وحدتیه و دالکی شهرستان دشتستان با ظرفیت ۶ هزار و ۵۰۰ متر مکعب و فاز اول طرح آب‌رسانی به شهرستان جم با خط انتقالی به طول ۴۲ کیلومتر بهره‌برداری شد.

پروژه آب شیرین‌کن ۳۵ هزار متر مکعبی بوشهر، پروژه‌ای ۱۰۰ درصد ایرانی است که با سرمایه‌گذاری، طراحی نصب و اجرای گروه صنعتی مپنا احداث شده است.

Note: This plant is 35000 m3/day water. World largest desal plant is in saudi with 1.4 million and one in Israel 624000 m3/day. Very exposed in case of hostilities..better make smaller plants in large quantities and dispersed !

Yes..the report is in this page few days ago..The discovery will place Iran next to Chile in terms of total reserves...EV conversions will force Iran to develop a lithium industry (most likely using Chinese for help).

The thing is, Foreign direct investment into Iran is extremely low. Extremely low, which means none of these resources would be used. Essentially only Iran itself can fund the investment of this mine and sell the resources and use some for domestic use. So its possible that this lithium will never be mined at all, since it would cost billions to do it, and not that much money is available on the fly.

China has the investment and Tech to do it...Iran can give them incentive to bring in mining and Battery production ..there is lots of foreign non sanctionable sources of money looking for good return on investment..mullahs should move their butt..you can not do everything by yourself it is just a fact of life.
