Even a nation that scorns democracy finds it necessary to use one of democracy's tools -- a fair judiciary -- in order to seek a remedy to a legal dispute involving millions of dollars.

The Iranian government has brought a lawsuit against the Russian government to the International Court over Moscow's failure to deliver S-300 missile systems to Tehran. The Iranian ambassador to Moscow, Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi, held a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday to complain to the Russian media and people.

Sajjadi said during the news conference that the S-300 shipment would not be a violation of the UN Security Council's Resolution #1929, that prohibits the sale to Iran of conventional weapons, including missiles, tanks, military helicopters, warplanes and warships.

The Iranian diplomat told the reporters that President Ahdmadinejad ordered the lawsuit in the hope that the court would rule in favor of Iran and thus help Russia carry out the weapons shipment.

pay the price for failure. Iran is only country in the world that has some guts to stand up against everyone, they slapped usa for talking trash, they almost stopped supplying oil to india, and now russia.

russia is a big super power, it should show its muscle and give the middle finger to the US.
s-300 is a defensive weapon.
This is clearly a sign of israel or the US planning to attack iran.

The resolution did not say you cant sell defensive weapons to iran, anyway the entire sanctions placed on iran are false they there to serve the usa interest, if russia was really a friend to iran they would not place sanctions on iran. how cant they keep placing sanaction on iran if they dont have any evidence..does it make sense to you?

No, that was not the s-300, they out on the truck "we can do it", meaning we can make s-300 ourselves. they recently said they wont make their own version of s-300 but are planning our own long range air defense.

Indeed, i rather iran being years behind the usa but being self-sufficiency, than being on the same level as usa but having to buy everything from them like the shah did.
