Iran Inaugurates Drone-Manufacturing Plant in Tajikistan

The Ababil 2 UAV production plant was inaugurated in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe on Tuesday.

In order to strengthen and develop joint defense and military cooperation between the two countries, the plant was inaugurated in the presence of a group of Iranian and Tajik officials.

Addressing the ceremony, General Baqeri said that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the efforts of its committed specialists and scientists and by using its internal capacities, has been able to make a significant growth in all military and defense dimensions, specially production of drones.
"Today we are in a position that we can export military equipment to allied and friendly countries in addition to meeting domestic needs in order to increase security and lasting peace," he said.

General Baqeri called opening of the Ababil 2 plant in Tajikistan a turning point in military cooperation between the two countries, and said, "God willing, in the future we will see more cooperation and interaction than all military defense levels between Iran and Tajikistan."

There look to be 2 versions in production in tajikistan, one is the loitering munition/kamikaze version, the other is a reconnaissance version with a modified nose and parachute recovery.

You can see the modified nosecone for the recon variant on the table at 0:30 in the video.
Its a smart choice by tajikistan. Its a simple, reliable, easy to manufacture entry level system, able to be used for both recon and attack operations as well as in training for ad crews, and with a long combat proven record.

Qaza fighters (islamic jihad movement) published the footage of their drone penetrating deep into occupied territories, it has returned successfully:

Where are the mighty air defenses?

Israel recently launched it's largest military drill in its history called "chariots of fire". They're even replicating an attack on Iranian nuclear sites. Realistically this UAV might have been a warning to let them know that Iran could absolutely devastate them with UAVs and missiles if they try anything.

If only the Armenians would have had a few hundred of these plus maybe 100 Mohajer-6 type drones and 50 Karrar type drones, it would have likely changed the fate of the war. Oh well better late than never.

I certainly agree, tho` I think that it probably would`ve been better for iran to send a small number of "demonstrator" models to armenia in the final 10 days/2 weeks or so of the conflict, just so the armenians could`ve seen for themselves what it would`ve been like to have had an armed drone force of their own.I have little doubt that after that, they would`ve wasted no time in purchasing iranian drones as quickly as possible.
It also would`ve sent a rather clear message to both erdo and the israelis that iran was not going to continue to turn a blind eye to their actions in that part of the caucasus.

Tehran, IRNA – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri visited Army’s secret underground base for drones on Saturday.

During his visit, General Baqeri got informed of Army’s latest capabilities to manufacture various types of drones including combat and long-range ones.

By setting up such a secret base designed and constructed hundreds of meters deep in the ground, the Islamic Republic has turned into the drone superpower in the region.

I would like to repeat that with this ‘underground doctrine’ there is no room (no pun intended) for a conventional Air Force.
