Iranian Space program

With the Missile Sejil, Iran exceeded North Korea in missile technology. Launch further with a bigger missile does not mean better technology

As an athlete who has failure at first, he persevenes and wins one day and becomes a pro in this area. The failure of Iran is for the best to come

Simorgh can become a successful SLV when burn time of upper stage is cut in half and a small solid motor is added as a second stage. Simorgh keeps failing because R-27 vernier engines in upper stage are being pushed well beyond their intended burn time. (~500 seconds vs rated ~250)

Current clustered Nodong booster stage + Newly developed solid motor for second stage + current upper stage with burn time cut in half = Sucessful Simorgh launch

Such a config of Simorgh would enable 500 kg+ into LEO. This is something that Iran can achieve in next few years if it wants to and funds it's space program properly.

The issue is the first stage is not powerful enough. Not the second. The second is making up for power of 1st stage.

Why doesn’t Iran use Sejil first stage?

Given there’s a corp of scientists, why do you think this is the case?

Given there’s a corp of scientists, why do you think this is the case?

It’s clear the Nodong first stage is the problem probably even affecting the 3rd stage in not giving enough altitude for insertion. Hence why Safir-3 (Zuljanah) is moving away from the first stage.

I think there is competition between IRGC and Iran space agency. They helped build Simorgh and then Rouhani delayed Simorgh launch over and over. Created a rift between the two organizations. Second of all, Iran space agency is a den of spies. Tough for IRGC to trust the people there.

If Iran supplies sensitive missile stages to ISA, guess what they also have to supply? Data on the stage and specifications. Guess where that data ends up? In hands of Israelis and US where’s it fed into supercomputer models to guess the remaining missing pieces of Iran’s BMs and help their interceptors better understand Iranian missiles to intercept.

Lastly I do think there is a lot of sabotage in the ISA either by people against the Republic or paid agents or both.

So your conjecture is that there is a fundamental technical problem and the corp of scientist are NOT aware of that and both agencies are stuck in a territorial battle a la the US' friction between branches?
