What's new

Iranian Space program

A lot of these smaller satellites in orbit can truly achieve 80-90% of Iran's remote sensing needs. Novel approaches in computational photography can also assist in designing high resolution cameras without the need for heavy single lens camera systems. There is a lot of potential.

The micro-satellite approach also enables budgeting head room for heavier Geo Sync satellites.

Interesting if the satellite that is in the logo in the picture is the actual satellite as it demonstrates extendable solar panels a technology never before demonstrated in Iran.

All of Iran’s previous satellites were “cube” satellites with no panels that actually extended or deployed after insertion.

I don't see thrusters though. I hope Noor's future generations will have thrusters to enable it to maneuver in space for orbital station-keeping and other navigational purposes.

Does this mean the satellite has thrusters? Or that the space launcher for had thrusters?

Platforms for national satellites set up in low-Earth orbit

The headquarters established a consortium of universities and knowledge-based companies active in the field of space technology.

The Iranbus 15 project, which is 15 kg imaging satellite platform, is made by the consortium of the Sharif University of Technology and the Malek-Ashtar University of Technology.

Another is the Iranbus 70 project, a 70 kg imaging satellite platform with 5 meter resolution, built by the Amirkabir industrial university and the Khaje Nasiroddin-e Toosi University.

The third platform is Iranbus 150, a 150 kg imaging satellite with one to two meter resolution, which is being built by the Iran University of Science and Technology.
