Was the Ghadir never operational? I thought it was in service for years at this point or is the Iranian media confusing test-firing with training/practicing with the missle?

As I understand, it's first test firing of Ghadir from this ship - Naghdi frigate, there early were Noor missiles, that now replaced on Ghadir missiles.

The article says that the weapon was delivered back in 2015 to the navy,so this was probably the first firing from a warship at sea,dont forget there is a mobile land based version of this that has probably been fired countless times.

A video circulated in the Iranian media shows the giant homegrown destroyer Damavand has fully sunk in the Caspian Sea a couple of weeks after it suffered damages during the stormy weather of Anzali Port.



The destroyer, which reportedly sank on Sunday, January 28, had crashed with Anzali Port’s jetty on January 10 and suffered minor damages when docking at the port.

Increasing wind speed and severe storm in the Caspian Sea was the cause of the crash; however, the Navy had declared it would be repaired in a short time.

Damavand, a 100-metre-long destroyer weighing more than 1300 tons, officially joined the Navy’s northern fleet in the Caspian Sea in March 2015.

More than 700 industrial, research and academic Iranian centres cooperated in designing and producing the military vessel, which was also a training warship.

Experts at Iran’s Defence Ministry had installed 25 homegrown electronics and communication systems on Damavand, including advanced naval radars and systems for communication, detection and interception.

Damavand was a Jamaran-class destroyer with unique features to meet the demands of the Iranian naval forces in the country’s northern waters.

The advanced destroyer was capable of tracking aerial, surface and sub-surface targets simultaneously.

اسفند ماه سال 91 سازه یک فروند شناور جدید با حضور محمود احمدی‌نژاد رئیس‌جمهور وقت به همراه سرلشکر فیروزآبادی و دیگر مقامات ارشد نظامی در آب‌های دریای خزر و در بندر انزلی به آب انداخته شد.

این سازه، همان نمونه پیشرفته‌تر ناوشکن جماران بود که آن روزها جماران2 نامیده می‌شد اما بعدها به ناوشکن دماوند، تغییر نام یافت.

پیشتر، خط تولید ناوشکن جماران 2 در اواخر سال 85 در صنایع دریایی شهید تمجیدی شهرستان انزلی با نام موج 2 افتتاح شده بود.

این ناوشکن نسبت به نمونه مشابهش که همان ناوشکن جماران است، طول بیشتر ولی در عین حال وزن کمتر و قابلیت‌های بیشتری در حوزه تجهیزات و تسلیحات، حمل نفرات و قدرت مانور و چالاکی بالایی دارد.

این شناور با قابلیت تدافع، تهاجم و رهگیری همزمان اهداف هوایی، سطحی و زیرسطحی، مسلح سامانه موشکی کروز، اژدرافکن، سامانه‌های توپ 76 و 40 میلیمتری، سامانه‌های پردازش راداری، رادارهای تاکتیکی سطحی و هوایی است.

ناوشکن پیشرفته جماران 2 حدود 100 متر طول و بیش از 1300 تن وزن دارد و از کاربردی‌ترین ناوشکن‌های موجود در دنیا به شمار می‌آید. هزینه ساخت ناوشکن جماران 2،‌ طبق اعلام مقامات نظامی کشورمان، یک چهارم قیمت مشابه خارجی آن است.

Nothing was left on it all components were removed.

امیر سرتیپ دوم تقی خانی، سخنگوی ارتش جمهوری اسلامی ایران گفت: ناوشکن دماوند که به هنگام ورود به بندر بر اثر شرایط نامساعد جوی و دریای طوفانی پس از برخورد با موج شکن در دریای خزر دچار سانحه شده بود با وجود استمرار وضعیت جوی نامساعد، کارشناسان متخصص بلافاصله به منظور بررسی وضعیت به محل اعزام و متوجه آسیب جدی در سطح بدنه زیر آب و لزوم باز شدن قطعات و انتقال آن به کارخانه برای احیاء مجدد شدند.

وی افزود: در اولین اقدام، تمام سامانه های حیاتی، حساس و ارزشمند ناوشکن با تلاش شبانه روزی متخصصان به رغم تداوم شرایط نامساعد جوی و طوفانی بودن دریا با دقت و به صورت استاندارد جدا و برای نصب مجدد پس از تعمیرات اساسی و احیاء ناوشکن به کارخانجات کشتی سازی شهید تمجیدی وزارت دفاع وپشتیبانی نیروهای مسلح منتقل شد.

سخنگوی ارتش تصریح کرد: با توجه به عمق کم آب در محل سانحه که حدود ۴ الی ۵ متر است امکان غرق شدن ناوشکن دماوند وجود ندارد و برای جابجایی بلوک های بدنه لازم است قسمت‌های به هم متصل شده، جدا و برای تعمیر و بازسازی اساسی به کارخانه کشتی‌سازی منتقل شود.

وی با اشاره به فرایند عملیات جداسازی، برداشت و احیای مجدد ناوشکن تصریح کرد: مشابه این گونه سوانح و چنین اقداماتی برای مهار سانحه و احیای کشتی‌های نظامی در صنعت دریایی جهان به طور معمول وجود دارد.

سرتیپ دوم تقی خانی اظهار داشت: در این فرایند طی ۲۴ ساعت گذشته به علت طوفان شدید و بالا آمدن سطح آب دریا قسمت روسازه آلومینیومی که به طور کامل تخلیه و برای جابجایی آماده شده بود به آب افتاده و باقی مانده بدنه شناور به پهلوی راست قرار گرفته است که بلافاصله پس از بهبود شرایط جوی در اولین فرصت این بخش از بدنه شناور و سایر قسمت های باقی مانده نیز جدا و به کارخانه منتقل می شود.

وی با بیان اینکه صرفا بدنه ناوشکن آسیب جدی دیده است،خاطر نشان کرد: هیچ محدودیتی برای احیای مجدد ناوشکن دماوند وجود ندارد و به دلیل بومی بودن تمام بخش های آن با انتقال قطعات جداشده به زودی عملیات احیاء ناوشکن دماوند و بازگشت آن به چرخه عملیات آغاز می شود.​
