A very interesting pic,as it seems to highlight the differences in materials used in the radar turret section of the mast. The same also looks to be the case for the small cylindrical antenna on top of the mast extension.

IMHO it should be plastic material or fiberglass or another material capable of letting TR/RX cells of the Phased array radar to be sent and receive it back.

The top cone it is again the same ECM equipment you can see in F76 Jamaran, Pakistanese origin (Chinese).

All in all it is a great achievement for IRIN. And most important, seems another unit in Bostanu shipyard will share same main radar and systems. I told two years ago that IRIN must standarize all their equipment. They must be capable of holding a large Naval Academy and homologue training crews with main systems, subsystems and weaponry and being capable of deployment in differents units in case of repairing or combat damage in any ship of the fleet.

Indeed their is alot of work to do.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Navy has developed the hulls of three new models of its homegrown Fateh (conqueror) submarine, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani sai

"Rear Admiral Irani also noted that an “adequate number” of Fateh submarines have been manufactured in Iran."

1? There needs to be better accountability for some of these idiots running the show in Iran.

Have you seen this before?

Regarding the number to be built, he replied, as much that would be enough, to maintain the solemnity of our nation.

It is very good news. After a long series of Ghadir submarines this one much more oceanic if it is homogeneous (in a same class usually you can find sub-series due to technical or strategic reasons), IRIN is creating not only a blue navy, but also a doctrine for the submarine warfare that would allow more ambitious projects. IMHO it would be worse just jump from the Fateh directly to Besat. It was necessary to create a truly fleet of medium ranged submarines. Excellent. Hope to see any picture soon!

Next Fateh (FATEH # 2) is supposed to have AIP..will see if they can deliver.

That's not what the article says. Regardless, the pace of development is staggeringly slow. Since 2013 they built one 520 tonne Fateh sub. God knows how long they will take to build the fantasy Besat submarine.

Sadly not true. Only Fateh #4 will have AIP.

The second one was supposed to according to the Khanzandi interviews; probably pushed back because of various difficulties?

Iran’s shipyards slower than average. I blame it on project management, since somehow IRGC Navy can use same or similar shipyards and pump out 2 Solemani’s ships in 2-3 years.

As for Fateh, the first Fateh was made with inadequate materials and its hull got compromised during trial tests of pressure depth so it had to basically have its hull redone. That added even more time on the project.

The issue isn't 2013-2019 for the first Fateh since it was Iran's first experience with a 500-600 ton sub, the issue is no further Fatehs since 2019-2023 (this is assuming work on Fateh #2 only started after Fateh #1 was commissioned).

At this rate the 4th Fateh (the only one with AIP) will join Iran's navy in 2040. Iran is better off buying subs from Russia than wasting all this time.
