Not sure if this was posted here before (it's from 2019) but it is rather important. Soren, inertial navigation system for Iranian submarines:

Another product unveiled at the exhibition was a homegrown Inertial Navigation System (INS) used for detection and navigation of submarines below the surface, where the conventional GPS system is not applicable.

Now heres a rather interesting capability that the swedish submarines have, its the ability to carry 2 smaller torpedoes in each tube.

This would potentially be a good force multiplier for the iranian 120 ton ghadir class boats.

Not really for Iran’s case. In this day and age a sub has to get close for torpedos and once fired in a narrow waterway like the PG, it’s game over for that sub in terms of escaping as it will likely try to get back into Iranian territorial waters for protection.

So more firepower is really not needed for those subs as they are unlikely to be staying at sea for long.

It would be a different story if it was a larger sub in a deeper sea.

P.S. who is Sweden going to fight realistically? Russia? Yeah right they would steamroll Sweden in hours. Also funny to see pacifist European countries with pointless shiny toys.

A relatively acceptable and accurate portrayal of the Iranian naval stratagem compared to other American panels. The panel comprised of 3 guests, one of which was the vice admiral (Rt) that commanded the Fifth Fleet. I do not agree with everything that was said but the Iranian panelist is clearly clued up and even wrote a paper on this issue (which the other two guests relied on). It seems that without an actual Iranian input, the Americans (even their military) would have a very superficial understanding of the Iranian military.

Not necessarily, indeed the whole point of things like wire guidance and especially weapons sch as the new jask 2 powered ashcm dispenser is to increase the range at which enemy vessels can be targeted while making it more difficult for the enemy to detect the point of origin of the launcher.
The baltic and the persian gulf both share some similarities, both are rather shallow seas with each only having an average depth of around 50m and a lot of civilian traffic as well as islands and choke points.

So more firepower is really not needed for those subs as they are unlikely to be staying at sea for long.
If you`re limited to only 2 torpedo tubes with no reloads,as in the case of the ghadir class boats, doesnt it make better sense to try to maximize the amount of fire power that you can carry?

The swedes took their neutrality, western oriented tho it was,and their military capabilities to defend it pretty seriously, they had a very advanced and capable military industrial complex which was even more impressive considering that they were not major military exporters like france or the uk.At the same time tho they had adopted many nato standards which would`ve allowed for a certain degree of interoperability with nato forces should that have ever been required.
The swedes were well prepared to fight a defensive on their own soil and I think that Its very likely that the soviets would`ve found sweden a rather tough nut to crack in a conventional war and any attack would`ve likely brought with it the very real risk of nato entering into the conflict.
Being neutral certainly doesnt mean that one is a pacifist,it simply means that one does not needlessly involve oneself in other peoples bulsh!t if one has the choice.Sadly tho with the end of the cold war sweden seems to have increasingly begun to vassalise itself with the west which I think is a great shame as at this point in time I think we badly need more neutrality and non alignment, not less.
Heres the swedish torpedo in question:

Its actually a very clever design with some rather unique features to its credit.

More than 100 domestically-built missile-launching speed boats join Iran’s naval fleet

Iranian naval forces have received more than 100 missile-launching speed boats designed and manufactured by experts at home, in what will boost the Islamic Republic’s offensive power in the strategic Persian Gulf waters.

During a ceremony on Thursday, 112 new-generation offensive speed boats of different classes were unveiled and delivered to the naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Enjoying hydrodynamic functional features, the boats are capable of sailing at a high speed, with a low radar cross-section (RCS) and a high level of offensive power, the IRGC’s Sepah News reported.

The event was attended by several high-ranking military officials, including Chief IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami, IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, and Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami.

IRGC chief: Defense doesn’t mean passivity against enemies

Addressing the ceremony, Salami hailed Iran’s significant progress in the defense sector, warning that the Islamic Republic will give a crushing response to enemies if threatened.

“The Islamic Republic has the determination. We will not bow to enemies. We will not retreat. Progress is the nature of our work. Defense is our logic in war but not in the sense of passivity against the enemy. Our operations and tactics are offensive and we have shown it in the battlefield,” he said.

The IRGC commander said that a key portion of Iran’s maritime power is still “unknown” to others.

“The most important and dangerous part of this power is unknown. Our enemies will see this power the day when they pursue an evil intention against this land. On that day, they will get to see the real firepower of our forces at the sea and in the sky, and the battlefield will turn into a hell for the enemies of Iran and Islam,” he warned.

Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing military equipment and hardware despite facing US sanctions and Western economic pressure.

The Islamic Republic says its military power is solely for defensive purposes against enemy threats.

‘Persian Gulf security belt to get a boost’

Iran’s defense minister also addressed the event, highlighting the significance of maintaining security in the Persian Gulf and the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

By manufacturing the high-speed boats and delivering them to the IRGC Navy, he said, “the security belt of the Persian Gulf and especially the vital Strait of Hormuz will be strengthened.”

Iran has always been a focus attention for world powers given the fact that the country has some 5,000 kilometers of maritime borders and coastlines, and that it is rich in maritime resources, including deep-sea oil reserves.

Hatami highlighted the geopolitical significance of the Persian Gulf region, describing it as one of the world’s most strategic regions, which links three continents together.

Iran attaches high importance to maintaining and consolidating security in the Strait of Hormuz as most of the world’s fuel flow through the key passage.

He further criticized certain trans-regional powers, who have been attempting to disrupt the region’s security, adding that such attempts are aimed at ensuring America’s dominance over the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

He slammed a move by the US to create an anti-Iran military coalition in the Persian Gulf, saying Washington is in fact after destabilizing the region and countering Iran’s dominance over the international waterway.
