I've read that 30% of households in Iran live below the poverty line but in terms of the general population it's atleast 60%. Several members of the Iranian government have previously admitted it and that was before the recent devaluation of the Rial from 270,000 to 550,000 against the US Dollar, as well as inflation rising from 30% range to above 50% now.

Also I spoke to someone who came from Iran today. He said the economic situation in Iran is extremely dire & he's never seen it worse than it is now. He's almost 70 years old. Even if we assume that it's only 30% as you claim, that's still atrocious for a country like Iran with the 2nd largest reserves of natural gas & the 4th largest reserves of crude oil on the planet. If properly managed, Iran should be easily flourishing & prospering.

So I want Iran to be a first rate country, with a GPD in the top ten, be able to trade with every country openly and the average Iranian to have high living standards, but I'm an Iran hater in your mind. Living above ones means is not a good thing, whether for a nation, or individual. A little bit of debt, invested into growing industries, okay, but this is getting out of hand. The sanctions on Russia have partly backfired. Realistically grocery & fuel prices in Russia haven't really increased since the war (Rebel news went to Russia & compared prices before & after & spoke to people on the ground, it's on youtube) The EU is still buying Russian fuel, except they're going through India and paying more to get it. This meme pretty much sums up what the EU is doing.

France shows you what happens when a capitalistic/socialistic society with major debt will have to do when it can no longer print additional currenxy due to threat of inflation going higher.

One day this will come to the US as well. Right now US government has $1T BUDGET deficit per year and rising.

I don't know why the Palestinians even bother. Israel always retaliates & kills 10x as many Palestinians. I think that both the Israelis & Palestinians need sit down with the UN and broker a permanent peace treaty that's mutually beneficial. This has gone on for far too long. The more sane Iranians have left this forum. It is a total freak show dominated by foreigners with no ties to Iran at all. funnily enough the actual hezbollahi Iranians (inside Iran) do admit the tremendous amount of mismanagement and corruption yet users with Anguillian, Tunisian, Pakistani,Canadian and French flags who even refuse to call Persian gulf by its proper name are ''concerned'' for Iran.
