IRANIAN AWAC

. .
Look at the plane far away. It looks like KLJ-2000 AWACs.

.
This plane parked in Shiraz and has some historic background......anyone try?

.
I believe its one of the two Iraqi Adnan Awacs that defected to Iran during Desert Storm.

.
u r right NEO.
The Iraqi's converted three IL-76 's as Adnan's, with a conventional rotodome above the fuselage. The system was a failure, like their other attempts at building an AWACS. One was destroyed on the ground at Al Taqaddum airfield by the USAF during Gulf War 1. the other two were reported to have taken refuge in Iran. They were last heard of in storage at Shiraz airbase.
As far as info, Iran doesn't have any A-50 mainstays, and that aircraft is not a Mainstay, no nose probe on starboard side, rounded nose, no bulge under the chin, no air intake at the base of the vertical tail, e.t.c.

.
Iraqi planes to find refugee in Iran? Since when did the both countries had such ties?

this radar has been accambled in iran!
and iran needs six radar for iran-140 aircraft

Nope I doubt it has been assembled in Iran. They would have let everyone know about it.
And no one else would have let them have one.

.
Let me do little correction about AWAC.
The Il-76 Adnan-1 AEW&C was an Iraqi development of an Il-76MD military transport aircraft based on the A-50 'Mainstay' with a Thompson-CSF (now Thales) Tiger-G radar which has a range of about 350km. Two were flown out to Iran during the Gulf war, one is in service with IRIAF today while the second aircraft is going through a upgrade programme.

Above HESA's Iran-140 in the percieved AWACS role. Antonov An-140 military AEW version will be equipped with a rotodome and a yet to be determined surveillance radar. Iran has an urgent requirement for at least a dozen of such aircraft due to its diverse topography!

the 2aircrafts ie the one in the picture and the model are different arent they? So 2 questions why is that so? Secondly why is their "secret project" out in full view of the world? If i am not mistaken this is a commercial airport.
So what do they want ot show the world?
Response would be appreciated
