can somebody tell me what is the benefit of sending live animals to space ... should iran focus on human space flight instead of satellites and unmanned probes

It lets them test their life support systems under stress and measure the effect of the voyage on live animals.

Every country eventually wants to send their citizens into space.

People only remember the first man in space, the first man on the moon, etc. In the next century, most people will know the first man on Mars, not the first spacecraft.
