Iran to Mark National Persian Gulf Day
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Southern port city of Bushehr is scheduled to host the Persian Gulf conference on Sunday to mark the National Day of Persian Gulf.

Iran designated April 30 as the National Persian Gulf Day to highlight the fact that the waterway has been referred to by historians and ancient texts as 'Persian' since the Achaemenid Empire was established in what is now modern day Iran.

The landmark conference will mark the National Day of Persian Gulf to promote the cultural and historical identity of the Persian Gulf, a major national character.

The Day marks the anniversary of the expulsion of Portuguese military forces from the Strait of Hormoz in 1622.

Guys! you call it the "Persian" Gulf, but we call it the "Arab" Gulf. Thats it. Why are you so inscure of your heritage and culure? Why do we need to fight over a stupid name? Seriously guys, what kind of officials you have? they have such a childish minds, it's like they think intrnational politics arena is a play ground. Tell them to go and play TIC TAC TOE with eachother. We have no time for this BS.

Some MPs to visit Persian Gulf to highlight Iran’s islands ownership
TEHRAN, April 28 (MNA) – Concurrent with the Persian Gulf Day a number of lawmakers sitting on the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee will visit the Persian Gulf on Sunday to signify Iran’s full sovereignty over the three islands of Abu Musa, and Greater and Lesser Tunbs.
Through their visit the MPs will also announce their support for the Iranian forces as the “powerful guards” of these islands, MP Gholamreza Karami told the Mehr News Agency.

The United Arab Emirates has claimed ownership over these three Iranian islands.

“Instead of causing conflict it is better that countries think about good neighborliness,” Karami said in an indirect reference to the UAE.

I am too lazy to translate the whole thing above, but in short please check out the encyclopedia of Ali Akbar Dahkhuda 1879-1956 which is the largest Persian linguistic encyclopedia/dictionary and published by an official accedemic instution which is Lughat nama organization in the litterature faculty of Tehran university and consists of 50 volumes.

He mentions in the volume 30 page 77 under letter ش describing Sharjah and stating it's dependencies as: Al Dhaid, Wadi Al Qour, Kalba town, Khorfakkan, Abu Musa island, Bu Nua'air island, and then he describes Abu Musa, it's height and topography and length and width.

Persian Gulf is known by the name of Persian Gulf since i had gained ability to read.It would be known as Persian gulf to the world. There is no need to celebrate Persian gulf day.

After the 7 Arab Emirates united to form a Federation, and all different ministries have been made into one Ministry instead of 7 different ministries and all of them work on the Emirate (Emirate with the s - not plural) level.

United Arab Emirates is asking the islands instead of Sharjah as there is only one Foreign Ministry and no different Foreign ministry for each Emirate. Same goes for all other ministries.

What is for Sharjah is for all other 6 emirates and what is for all other 6 Emirates is for Sharjah.

I hope it makes clear now why United Arab Emirates which was formed in 1971 is asking the islands and not Sharjah directly.

I do not know why it so difficult for you Persians to understand that yes UAE was not there before 1971 but all the 7 Arab Emirates that make up United Arab Emirates were there before UAE was formed.
That's the most illogical thing I've heard yet.

These islands belonged to us for thousands of years before the Brits took em over in the 1920's. Who cares what you lot were doing. The Brits then gave administrative rights to some backwater nobody had ever heard of and we eventually got it back in the 70's. Guess what? It wasn't theirs to give to you.

That you need to get into your skull.

It's a very simple concept actually. It's like I come and take over your house and then give it to some bum on the corner of the street. Later that bum is kicked to the curb again but instead of going on his merry way, he starts screaming bloody murder and asking for the house back, the house that wasn't even his!!!

**** off.
