Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh said Iran will boost industrial cooperation with neighboring Afghanistan in the near future.
"Our country plans to launch production lines in small and medium industries in Afghanistan," Nematzadeh said Wednesday at the opening ceremony of Iran's third specialized exhibition in the Afghan capital of Kabul, Tasnim News Agency reported.

For this reason, Iran will hold another specialized exhibition on industrial and manufacturing machinery in the near future in Afghanistan, he added.

The minister said Iran is ready to boost economic relations with Afghanistan, and called on the Afghans to pave the way for further mutual economic cooperation between the two countries.

Last month, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mojtaba Khosrotaj described the Afghan market as 'strategic' for Iranian merchants.

"Although Afghanistan is not considered a new market, presence in the market is strategic for Iran because we can have economic activities there in the long term," the deputy minister said at the time.

In April 2015, Iran and Afghanistan signed two cooperation agreements to boost relations between the two neighbors in various areas.

The documents were signed in a ceremony attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani as well as high-ranking officials from the two countries.

A good development. There is alot Afghanistan can learn from Iran in education and industry among other fields. With proper planning Afghanistan can change its destiny in just few years. Industrial production lines is a step in right direction.
