I agree. I am firmly convinced that Iran does not pose any threat to Pakistan. Also the Indian economic influence on Iran is squat. Can somebody tell me how much real investment has been made in Iran by India. I know the Chinese have a far larger share of Iranian trade.

The India/Iran thing is more singing, dancing and showbazi than anything tangible. This is the sober fact and I wish Pakistani members here realized this by looking at facts rather then falling for Indian bragging.

There is a reason for it i guess. Saudi/uae does not care what pakistan thinks when it comes to maintaining relations with india.

Day iran takes the same attitude, pakistan will stop bothering iran also.

Bro don't get too emotional,it's India and Iran business no one should show its concerns bcz it doesn't harm Pakistan in any way.. Some Pakistanis show concerns but as I believe it shouldn't be a concern for us as it is related to trade,energy, infrastructure so it is not bad for us but a good sign for region as competition will increase & I'm sure Iran will never let others to use it's soil against Pakistan I have no doubt about that nor Pakistan will allow any other state to use it's soil against Iran..as soon as IP gas pipeline project gets complete it will improve our relations many folds

We should not be worried about india/Iran relations rather hope all the best for both of them but Pakistan should move very carefully with its relations with Iran. It should be properly analyzed before we put too much confidence in Iran, we haven't been receiving well wishes from Iran in last 3 decades.

Unlike Afghanistan, Indian cannot use Iran as their proxy or another thing there in dictionary. Afghanistan is a war torn country and far from prosperity but once these sanctions will remove $300 Billion petrodoller will come annually in Iran's economy. Then India or anyother country will not be able to use Iran as their 2nd fiddle country ...

We should increase trade with Iran as it is in our best interest.

Although at times there is a shia-ishness in Iranian foreign policy possibly due to Saudi Arabia's same sunni orthodoxy Iran has usually spoken for all muslims and against sectarianism just as Zarif's comments now show. A number of Pakistanis hate Iran just because it is shia. These same people have a negative view of Sipah E Muhammed which is only a response of shias locally in Pakistan to their killings by Lashkar E Jhangvi. We must take severe action against the LEJ and I am glad that Malik Ishaq is finally dead.

We should seek better ties with Iran. It has tried to have a pro muslim policy rather tha pro shia policy. Though I fear how chahbahar may be used it is the decision of Iran. I would still assume though that it is wiser to court China than India-both for the pro Muslim policy and for their power in the UN, the veto power. But in the end it is Iran's decision.

Iran and Pakistan cant afford to be Provocative against each other because no matter how much Pakistani and Iranian Establishment mistrust Each other they cant provoke each other as many things have come along quite recently where both countries share common interests. Baluchistan is one of them as Iranians understands that destabilizing Pakistan Baluchistan would come with Bad news in Sistan as well because Baluch Separatist Elements which Indian Allegedly supporting through Afghanistan are looking for both sides of Baluchistan Iranian as well as Pakistani. Next area is Afghanistan where Iran's most Bitter Enemy ISIS are surfacing and another Iran's Bitter Enemy Taliban are fighting against them right now so no matter how much they would hate Taliban they have to come to some kind of Understanding with Taliban against ISIS because ANA is yet to engage against them in a battle Field and it is also evident that ISIS are more notorious in comparison to Taliban whom Afghan Army are fighting against with great tools.

So in the end Pakistan and Iran have no choice but to Cooperate with each other and if CPEC becomes Reality Chinese would also disturb the dynamics of India Iran relation as well.
