Iran summons UK Charge d'affaires

Iran's Foreign MinistryIran's Foreign Ministry has summoned the British Charge d'affaires Jane Marriott over the persistence of the use of violence by police to crackdown on protesters.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry's Western Europe Department conveyed Tehran's concerns over the violent dealings of the British police with protesters to Marriott, IRNA reported.

The Iranian official called on the British government to “heed the demands and true requests” of the protesters in the country.

On Tuesday, Iran's deputy head of the Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said Tehran is prepared to send a delegation to investigate instances of human rights abuse in Britain.

Moreover, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad strongly condemned the violent treatment of British protesters by police forces in remarks made on Wednesday.

The unrest in Britain began on August 6 in the north London suburb of Tottenham, after a few hundred people gathered outside a police station to protest against the fatal shooting and killing of a black man, Mark Duggan, by the police.

Thereafter, violent protests erupted in major cities like Birmingham, Liverpool, and Bristol, contributing to Britain's worst riot since the 1930s.

Muslim leaders take the west on at their own game:rofl:

it doesnt weight much now, but in future it seems the game will be reversed and its turning on to its own master

i is so sad that saudi arabia doesnt learn anything from iran

I am sure Saudis and lots of other people too wish to be as bold as Iranians but the problem is their governments which have grown spineless. It sometimes feels we are still living in colonial times with some nations being sovereign and others being subjugated.

iran doesnt have too much overflowing money and that maybe the main diff between saudis and iranians

saudis being rich in too much ready to use money dont have to do anything other than sitting and seeing their money being generated

they can develop serious industries by their over flowing money but as we say, god gives one thing and takes other, like saudis being rich in money but allah has taken away all their intelligence and made them stupid and ignorant

Ahmadinejad is making Iran a laughing stock.

This is pathetic. Didn't expect this from Iran.

If anything they should critisize UK police for being too soft.

BBC caught offguard by a truth speaking writer. The live interview was caught short while trying to show that the writer is also a thug. The clip was never shown again on BBC while it is customary for BBC to run clips over and over again.

How so. When the west make silly comments everyone is expected to lap it up. They interfere eg america tellling india what to do about hazare, asking chinese why they need an aircraft carrier. They decide that rebels in libya are true reps of libyan people etc.

Indian leaders are making India a laughing stock by wanting to become a permanent member of UN security council. After all India has been killing Kashmiris for over 60 years now.
