Iran summons Pakistan envoy over border guard deaths

worry about your shooders and christians and muslims, let us worry about our Shia Sunni problem
"shooders" christians and musilms are enjoying plum posts in India. You should not lecture us. You should just listen and nod your head.

Let's just leave it this way.

Both countries moan every now and then over the deaths of border guards by bandits / terrorists but both countries do very little to improve border security. Simply reason, both nations don't want to deploy hundreds of thousands of soldiers at the border unnecessarily, creating unnecessary tension, risk and incidents. Plus, it saves millions of dollars each year for both countries.

Bull shit.

Iran has done a thousand times more than Pakistan. Border security on the Iranian side is infinitly better, but without both sides cooperating, it's a moot point sometimes.

Iran spends billions on barriers of all sorts and monitoring. The number of border guards lost on the borders of AFG/Pakistan are also an indication of the constant battles going on in the border areas. More recently Iran has started building a 700 km long "3 ft (91.4 cm) thick and 10 ft (3.05 m) high concrete wall, fortified with steel rods." I think if they do complete it, then it'll be a massive waste of money b/c without cooperation on the Pakistani side, nothing will change.

Iran alienated another neighbor:Pakistan. Few weeks ago they threatened Turkey and Azerbaijan. Before that they killed some KRG troops in Iraq and also Afghanistan. I wonder who would stand up for Iran if it got attacked by US or Israel.

We can't all bomb our own territory like Turkey. Some of us rather alienate neighbors.

But you need to give them credit though, being concerned about israel's security if assad falls

Makes the Iranian government look petty, because their "summons" tool place after Pakistan had already summoned the Iranian Ambassador to protest the unprovoked and criminal act of Iranian forces shooting at a Pakistani paramilitary patrol and killing a paramilitary official. Instead of apologizing and promising to look into the incident, the Iranian government instead chose to ignore the incident completely and engage in externalizing their internal Baloch/Sunni insurgency and smuggling related problems and blame Pakistan for events that are not under her control.

Bull shit.

I'll ask this again - what specifically does Iran expect Pakistan to do in terms of border security? Build a massive concrete barrier? Not happening - Pakistan does not have the money and is spending what funds it does have on bolstering security on the Afghan-Pakistan border, to prevent both TTP and Baloch terrorists carrying out attacks in Pakistan from Afghan sanctuaries. Deploying additional patrols on the Pakistani side is also not feasible at this point because the Pakistani military and paramilitary forces are busy with large deployments fighting terrorists in FATA and Balochistan.

If Iran has the resources, then Pakistan will not (and does not) object to Iran deploying more troops and constructing more barriers along the Iran-Pakistan border, but the violations of international law committed by Iran repeatedly are unacceptable. If Iran has constructive suggestions on how Pakistan and Iran can cooperate on border security, within Pakistan's limited current resources, then we are all ears.

Thats precisely the problem. You are not in control over your own territory, which have become lawless havens of criminality and cross-border terrorism. This is why Iranian politicians, military officials and even regime clerics call on Pakistan to act according to the Iran-Pakistan border security agreement of 2013, or to accept Iranian military intervention on the Pakistani side of the border to clear the area of criminals and terrorist cells.

That is irrelevant to the primary issue that caused the recent escalation in emotions, which was the death of a Pakistani paramilitary soldier and an unprovoked attack on a Pakistani paramilitary patrol by Iranian forces - first and foremost Iran owes Pakistan an apology and a credible investigation into the incident. Iran has done nothing of the sort, resorting instead to arrogant and inflammatory statements. With such an attitude on display, very few in Pakistan care about listening to Iranian whining about "cross-border attacks", if the allegations are even true.

No Iranian military intervention on the Pakistani side is acceptable - if the Iranians have intelligence on suspected militant/terrorist locations, then they need to cooperate with Pakistan to develop a means of exchanging said intelligence in real time so that Pakistani forces can act on the intelligence as rapidly as possible.

If Iran has the resources to spare to deploy additional soldiers, then instead of deploying them to conduct illegal cross-border raids in Pakistan, they should be used to patrol the Iran-Pakistan border on the Iranian side, and used to interdict (on the Iranian side) the alleged terrorists/criminals when the cross over the Iran-Pakistan border.

The Iranian government and military leadership is feeding her people a bunch of baloney to mask their failures in both controlling security at the Iran-Pakistan border, as well as their failure in controlling the Sunni/Baloch insurgency within Iran - they are proposing solutions (Iranian cross-border raids) that they know are not feasible and therefore will continue to provide them with excuses when such attacks continue due to failures in Iran's political and security approach towards the Sunni/Baloch insurgency.

There's no Sunni insurgency inside Iran. In no Sunni areas do we have any violence and no-go area's for Iranian security forces do not exist in our country, unlike in your country where Pakistani security forces, civilians and infrastructure are regularly attacked by rebels and criminals, both ethnic and Islamic. Just this morning i was reading in the news that a number of Pakistanis were kidnapped and shot dead deep inside Balouch territory in your country. In Iran, terrorist attacks always take place on border areas with Pakistan, they dont take place in the rest of Sistan-Balouchestan province.

You have massive law and order problems in Pakistan. Your country is full of roaming bands of criminals and terrorists. Iranian forces can help clear your border areas of terrorists. Why Pakistanis do not want this help is very suspicious for us. It is Iranian lives that are prepared to be put at risk to clear border areas on your side of terrorists and criminals. Any sane, normal people that are not able to do this for themselves should be thanking Iran that Iranian forces are prepared to do this for you.

Quite strange that these 'rebels and criminals' that you talk about who attack Pakistan often float maps ,and in those they carefully leave out Baloch areas of Iran , its like the Baloch areas of Pakistan are fair game but the Baloch areas of iran and afghanistan are not , one has to wonder why and what kind of baloch nationalist would want to leave out the iran and afghanistan parts of balochistan but commit violence and terrorist activity only on Balochistan which is part of Pakistan territory

Innocent iran wouldn't have anything to do with this , now would it ?
