Iran successfully sends living creature in to space, recovers it alive.

the most hilarious comment in the entire thread

Energy drink wasn't under sanctions for decades, quit trolling, its not that hard to congratulate others, ontopic: great work Iran.

I'll congratulate the Engineers who achieved this, and that's as far as I'll go. It's not fair to say this is an Iranian achievement, when the average Iranian doesn't have electricity, 30-40% of the population live in slums, and literacy rate of only 80%. This sort of Engineering is far behind the capacity of someone who lives in a slum and cannot read and write.

oh @Sinhala darling, let it go baby. It's not fair either to keep quoting those figures of poverty or literacy in thread dedicated to space program.

So when do we get our hands on the details?

Such as, time the monkey spent in 'space', what altitude does 'space' (per the Iranians) start at, or what kind of fuel was used for the controlled flight etc.

I mean we can't really make any judgment without such details. Why is the Iranian media so tight-lipped about it... what is there to hide?

Well it depends on State whether to release the information or not. We can either trust them or not. People even doubt that there was Moon Landing or not.

WTF,

Iran is not Sri Lanka. It’s a modern country. Iran actually energy surplus and exports its energy. There is no electricity shortage in Iran. Iran exports it human capital for energy production to nations around the global. Energy consumption in Iran is 6.5 times that of global average. Iran's literacy rate in 2012 is now 90% and majority of Iranians don't live in slums. Your perception of Iran is laughable and skewed

1- Iran literacy rate= %98
2-Iran average blackout= .06 second a year

So when do we get our hands on the details?

In general Iran does not release details to prevent enemies get access to details and analysis it.

At least they did it, it is a commendable achievement. Pakistan can't even launch its own Satellites.
Unlike Iran Pakistan doesn't have 80 bln petrodollars a year to waste them on useless PR projects like 20 kg satellites which decease after 1 month or monkey in sounding rocket.

Thats great bro, thn srilanka should help these iranian how to develop since srilanka is one of the richest and highly developed country in the world, and there r no slums in srilanka, and srilanka has better human developement in theworld thats ranked 98th and iran ranked 88th.......ow damn hold on...

Indeed, Iran does not get any technology transfers. Its pure coincidence that its new Dehlavieh anti tank missile looks exactly like Russian Kornet.

Its pure coincidence, that its anti ship missile Nasr looks exactly like Chinese C704.

Its pure coincidence, that its Safir space launcher looks exactly lie enlargened Sovet Scud, repeating its tiny details.

etc etc

No, there are no coincidences! As a matter of fact, I do believe some of the above ARE Russian and Chinese armaments manufactured (in Iran) under license! (They changed the names of course!). I don't see the relevance... ?!

You see, I don't have any problem with most of your statements, the only issue here is that you tend to oversimplify things, without taking into account, Iran's current infrastructures, restriction on import of materials necessary for such projects, amount of money invested, etc...

It is true that foundation of Iran's missile technology is based on North Korean technology (which itself is based on Soviet technology), but you must take note that Iran has a successfully put a satellite into orbit (even if it was a simple transmitter!) at least several years earlier than North Korea! (It's worth mentioning, North Korea had a missile program long before Iran).

It is irrelevant and I don't want to sound pompous! But the satellite (Iran) sent to space at that time was so technologically inferior that I could build something better in less than a month with around $25K (in Iran) it would cost me only $9K if I was living in the States! So, I'm emphasising that there was nothing too special about the satellite itself, delivering the payload (insignificant as it may be) to LEO was the real achievement!

Did you just provided the forum with economic and social statistics of Sri Lanka?

Remind me to give you a lecture on Orbital decay... later of course!

That is very true.

Iran was successfully launching satellites at a time when North Korea's satellite launches all failed.

Iran is also capable of launching animals into space and returning them unharmed, which only a handful of nations in the entire world can do.

@500 : you have not answered my question yet! ...... what if we launch simorgh SLV this month?

plus lol to that sri lankan.....this year i just seen power outage for 30 minutes! plus 100% of villages have access to water/gaz/electricity flow!sth your nation wont achieve by 3013!plus we export electricity to all our neighbores such as Turkey and Pakistan....

I thought Iran was under sanctions? and you people keep saying Iran economy is destroyed?
Iran's economy is in terrible shape for economy that receives 80 bln a year. But 80 bln is still 80 bln.

and still they managed to send a living creature to space by themselves... name me nations that are not under sanctions that can do that by themselves? Europe it self asked Russian and American help for their space program...
