Iran sports thread

. . . . . . .
Doostan, there has been a MAJOR development!

Supposedly one of Iraq's players was ineligible to play for Iraq because of having been tested for doping twice (once in Iran, and then once in Cologne in Germany).
Iranian officials made this issue known and filed a complaint to FIFA, before the match started.
Now FIFA has replied back and confirmed he was indeed doping.

It seems its up to AFC what will happen now, final decision is still pending.
But according to every playbook it should result in the forfeit of Iraq's victory and Iran being awarded 3-0.
Lets see what happens.

I see you're on the other forum as well :enjoy:.

There is ZERO reason why these Iraqis should not be disqualified! This is unless the scumbags at AFC deliberately overlook this matter. As far as their own laws are concerned, the Iraqis should be kicked out.
So as it seems, there is a good chance we'll face the Korean in the semis.

Three things to consider:

1) FIFA itself has to confirm the allegations, not news papers.

2) If they are true, then Jordan can come and say we should be back as well, b/c Iraq played Zahra in that game too. In fact, the only game that Zahra didn't play in was the one against Palestine.

3) The AFC will make its own decision on disqualification in this tournament, not FIFA. We all know that an arab owned confederation (thanks to IR's general incompetence and weakness) will not disqualify an Arab team.

I think the chances are very low.

The condition for result to change is that the loosing team should file the complaints within 2 hours after the end of the game. Iran has filed it's complaint even before the start of the game and FIFA has accepted the allegations. We will know about the decision in a few hours.

What you're saying is true, but unless FIFA notified the Iraqi FA, there's nothing that can be done. If the Iraqi FA was indeed notified than the game would have to be 3-0 for Iran. If not, current result will stand.

I don't want to get hopeful. Already been disappointed once this week.
