Iran sends monkey to space in 2012

Is biological payload(like monkey) even necessary these days?

Wasn't the whole point of sending monkeys and dogs up in space was to find out if it would be possible to survive in the space. Since they didn't want to risk the lives of human beings they used animals.

Now that it has been established that human can very well survive in space, I see no point of this?

well you must be sure of the capsule itself and the best way is to test something remotely similar to human .

you can fill the capsule with tens of different detector but still sending a primate give you more info, after all you are going to test the effects on a living creature not some detectors .

In 3 or 4 months.
Why do you have doubts on Iran's capability?
We have overcame the most serious challenge in space programs:Successfully launching a rocket in to space.

That's why only 9 countries have been able to launch satellites in to space.

It's mandatory for sending humans to space.
Besides how do you know he will die?The mission is aimed at launching the animal to space and recover him alive.
China,Russia and U.S all have done this before.
