Iran sees regional alliance to counter NATO

Pakistan has closed many options by blindly supporting Talibans. We have damaged our relations with Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhistan and Kirghizistan. They short sighted policy of supporting Talibans have soured our relations with our cousins in Central Asia. Pakistan should have been part of this alliance to stabilize Afghanistan instead we are perceived as one of the problem.

If Iran form any alliance against Pakistan than Pakistan will be forced to counter it.

The news reports state that Iran is moving forward to join regional alliances against the Taleban, not against Pakistan. Unless of course, you're implying, or perhaps admitting, that Pakistan and the Taleban are one in the same thing.

In ths same way, India-US and India-Russia partnership expains to each other.
In the same way, India-Israel and India-KSA alliance explains each other.
In the same way, India-Iran and India-Israel, India-US or India-KSA is explained.

Relation between nations are complex and derived by their national interests only.

India frankly doesnt have too good relations with KSA or needs to explain anything rather ur Pm visited KSA after DECADES and tht too to ask them to request Pakistan to support (india)in afghanistan!!!!!nor india was helpful as reguards to IPI pipeline where india withdrew coz of Us n israeli pressure!

Iran is one of the first countries to have accepted Pakistans independence,provided oil in indo-Pak war.
Has good military n intelligence relations with Pakistan.
The recent catch of rigi with help of Pakistans ISI is a good example.As well as the multi billion dollar IPI deal with still stands reguardless of US pressure(while india backed off).

You should go throught this thread here to read up on what are the areas of cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan is one aspect of that.

Infact right after 26/11 attacks it was the Saudi intelligence cheif that visited India for intelligence sharing.

Those were days of the Cold war, many PAkistanis dont' realise that all their good relations were built on the back of Cold war politics.

The Saudis have realised that the cold war is over and are not establishing relations with India and China. Time for Pakistan to do the same.

And India backed of from the IPI mainly around pricing and security concerns. Why do you think it is still risking sanctions from the US and still doing trade (and building up)with Iran if it backed off under US pressure?

Well you missed out next door cousins India as well as Turkey which were part of the anti-Taliban alliance.

The best thing would be if Pakistan joins a regional alliance of Iran, Russia, India, China and CARs to stabilising Afghanistan and banishing the Taliban once and for all.
And then we should get all NATO forces to leave Afghanistan with guarantee that neighbouringcountries will support a neutral Afghanistan.

Even if i stand on Hamid guls statement thts enough a former DG ISI feared Pakistani intel agency.And one of the main players of soviet afghan war!!

But i stand on indian minister shahsi tharoors statement...now dont tell me hes an agent of ISI.
