Iran has sent a request to Pakistan to get access to an Indian spy, Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav, who was awarded death sentence by the military court, for interrogation.

According to BBC, the same was revealed by Iranian Council General Muhammad Rafi during a press conference some two days ago in Quetta.

When asked whether Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif had discussed the issue with his Pakistani counterpart during his recent visit, Rafi said that the issue was not taken up with Pakistani authorities.

He, however, added that the Iranian government has asked the Pakistan to get access to the Indian spy for interrogation. He revealed that no development was made on the request so far as negotiations are underway.

It is important to mention that Pakistan had claimed that Jadhav enter into Pakistan from Iran.

Jadhav was arrested from Balochistan last year on March 3. The Pakistan Military Court sentenced him to death, alleging he was working as a spy for intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing or RAW. Jadhav was a serving officer in the Indian Navy.

According to India, Jadhav was kidnapped from Iran, where he was carrying on business after retiring from the Indian Navy and was then shown to have been arrested in Balochistan.

On Tuesday, India approached the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and asked to intervene in the matter of the detention and trial of Jadhav.

First Iran would need to answer how they allowed RAW's network to run from its territory against Pakistan before requesting counsellor access to a terrorist. And Iran has no legal grounds to claim a counsellor access anyway.

No international law grants them right to interrogate a third national prisoner in Pakistan.

Pakistan asked Iran to help with the investigation in the case, I am sure Iranian authorities would love to ask few questions from Jadhav themselves. If Pakistan has a watertight case against Jadhav I wonder why they are shying away from giving Iran access to unearth his network within Iran.

Legally, Iran can not ask Pakistan for a "counsellor access". They have asked for "interrogation" but Pakistan is not bound to grant them this request as its not about their National under prosecution in Pakistan.

Iran has to answer few questions instead of wanting to ask few. Pakistan' case against Kulbhushan is solid and doesn't need any re-validation or re-verification for anyone's benefit. From our perspective, Kulbhushan is already waiting for his swing.

What's the problem? Iran wants to help brotherly Muslim country to investigate and to unearth the kulbhushan network in Iran, being used by Indians against Pakistan. So that it can't be used again for any nefarious activity by India against ummah brother Pakistan! Isn't this your main demand from Iran! If yes, then what's the problem in giving access of Kulbhushan Jadhav to Iran??

Pakistan should give this access as this will further expose india

When brotherly Muslim country would need Iran's help, it would ask it itself. :smitten:

First of all this Kulbhusan jadev alleged RAW spy was a very big asset for the india, as this terrorist Kulbhusan Jadhav was directly in touched with his RAW chief for further directives and plans to destabilize our peaceful country.

Second, why so much of hue and cry from indian side? This thing from their media and from their government both shows he was really a big asset working for the RAW and huge cache of information he was having that how RAW is working in Afghanistan and Iran to send and promote terrorism in Pakistan and now he is in the hands of ISI and soon be sent to gallows for his conviction and execution.

Iran should simply has no privileges to demand some sort of questions to give them counselor access, as they should rather answer us how this terrorist managed and holed up to create a big network of RAW terrorist spies inside a third country and their Iranian soil was used to export and promote terrorism in Pakistan.

Iran should simply examine as how can their soil is used on a third country from a second country perspective and without their knowing that it’s been keenly run through state sponsored support which we saw one of his passport which was from Iran.

Rather questioning us, Iran should question Indian government that why they have used their soil to destabilize Pakistan, or rather Iran should don’t peruse double standards of relations where it hides and supports hidden enemies of Pakistan as indian RAW agents and give them travel documents and visas where ever they travel to send or promote terrorists into our territory.

In the end, Iran should be questioned that how this terrorist Kulbhusan Jhadv which would be soon hanged managed to get the travel documents of Iran, and is Iran involved promoting terrorism in Pakistan?
