Recently released figures on the cost of essential items for lower-income segments in Iran show that the rise in the price of these items — predominantly food products — has indeed put a lot of pressure on vulnerable groups in the country.
During the period from March 2019 to September 2020, Iranians have witnessed prices of goods skyrocket from 55% to more than 100%, according to a study published in October by the Institute for Trade Studies and Research, a think tank under the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade. For instance, pasta, imported rice and legumes have increased in price by more than 100%. Tea, sugar, Iranian rice, eggs and dairy products have seen prices rise between 60% and 91%. Since it was not Iran who broke the agreement - then it is not Iran who should first to fullfil all the conditions of it. It is West who must do it first and only after Iran will make sure all the conditions are performed in 100% - only then Iran have to stop nuclear researches.

Trump was wrong on a lot of points, but also right on more than a few.
He was for instance right when he said the Iran deal was a bad deal, in that it gave Iran the means to pursue regional violent interference and the ability to develop ICBMs (a precursor to having a nuclear arsenal, even if you develop them under the obvious cover of a civilian space program).

I hope Iran comes to it's senses and realizes a new more broad deal is in order here.
If not, then i hope the west is able to sanction the Iranian leaderships in ways that actually hurt them, in order to bring them to the negotiating table.

Iran can not pretend to be a good, benign, actor in the world while it is actively developing ICBMs and hosts a regional militant network which engages in strikes outside of Iran's borders.
In my opinion, any new deal with Iran, any deal that must be reached *before* sanctions are lifted (instead of increased over time), *must* include these elements to a degree whereby Iran focuses exclusively on peaceful technology and (foreign) policies.

The JCPOA favoured iran alot actually. Especially the release of old money. The US realized it, dems know they made a mistake and trump cleaned it up for them. The US now will not just go back to the old deal, they certainly want renegotiation. The sanctions are really hurting iran but they dont show it publicly, so the dems have time on their side.
