Iran & Russia Sign MoU on Military Cooperation

We are doing just fine thank you. Iran's economy is recovering and where many western analysts say that Iran is starvig and crippling (wet dream), I laugh my a.ss off. We are self sufficent in many areas and the streets are full of food. Sanctions have actually helped us to become self sufficient like arms industry and many other areas. We have a large scientific base that is the growing at the fastest rate.
So we are doing much than many other countries that are subservient to US interests. And we still are the decision makers in the region, despite all attempts to keep Iran down.

Besides, the economic center of gravity is shifting towards the east. Meaning your share in the world economy will decline relative to others.
Which effectively means that you will not have as much say who is allowed to trade with whom.
In 10-20 years time, it is the West that is sanctioning itself from Iran rather than other way around and you will only lose market share (Iran is a large country and very lucrative market) to your rivals.
Then you will regret that you did not deal with us with something called mutual respect.

Lool the west/U.S isn't going anywhere contrary to what most of you think bro. Moreover the power shift to the East which you boast about wouldn't change much/be of help to Iran. Do you even know the economic/financial and scientifical relationship we have with east Asian countries/powers like China and Japan?lol. Japan is a firm western ally with U.S military bases and China has the largest economic relationship with the U.S both are too dependent on each other , Russia also has a huge economic and even military (before Ukraine crisis) with the west/U.S.

You should ask yourself why Russia refused to deliver the S-300 missiles you paid for. Loool why did Russia and even China agreed to U.N security council sanctions against Iran?why did even Japan reduced it oil purchases from Iran?lol. Thing is as big powers always do back deals among themselves (especially the big five of the UNSC), other smaller countries are just pawns in he greater scheme of things, they always come to some understanding/compromises. So if Iran thinks by going head on against the U.S/west/Israel just because of some silly ideological ideals which their mullah hold, then I'm afraid its in for a huge shock and continued isolation.

'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' Albert Einstein.

Iran needs to really introspect and think about its foreign policy very well. The current one has been a failure IMO. Its needs a thorough review U-turn like China Mao's during the late 70s withvkissenger and later Deng....make peace/cooperate with the West/Israel and move on....leave religious ideologies/defending the 'Muslim cause'(as if there is any.lool) behind it won't help the country one bit. INTERETS ARE ALWAYS PARAMOUNT IN GEO POLITICS, there is no morality in it. That's is how the great game has always been played and that's bow or will keep being in future unfortunately.

.
Actually we are not your ennemy.
F******you . the past 150 years history shows
you are clearly you talking BS . this is long before the new establishment take power so trust me you NOT be able to fool any (i mean zero ) Iranian here that England is NOT iran enemy England is well know enemy of Iran in past 150 years .
so stop the nonsense about the religious establishment
The only issue our leaders have with Iran is Iranian mullah's redicoulois claims/speeches of wiping Israel off the map and arming groups like Hama's and Hezbollah to attack Israel, if Iran gave up this support and arming of these terrorist groups against Israel then we will have no issue AT ALL
look who's talking .
you come from ********** country that killed millions of people in India and Africa and brought slavery and wars colonizations and rubbed many nation of it,s goods .
so before talking please have look at mirror .

every country is after their interests, **** ideologies/ support based on religion/moral bullshits etc etc, .
look at your country England .
you got Queen as head of state which is unelected . and she have the ultimate power . she a point the head of MI5 + MI6 + GCHQ +++++++ which is the power point of every country
and David cameron does not chose the head of these agencies .
and then look at the her family as well which are all on record for doing wrong .

This Mike guy's premise is that Iran is opposed to Israel's illegal territorial grab of Palestinian and and Muslim lands, and therefore the West will always have an issue with Iran. Debating with people like this guy is indeed a waste of time. His little pro-Zionist mind can't tell him that Iran is on the right path by standing with the oppressed people in Palestine and other Arab territory illegally occupied or threatened by Israel. Even in the West, with all of Zionists' control on media and politics, the people in those countries are coming to the realization that Israel is a pariah, an apartheid entity, and a brutal regime. No wonder why the recent polls in Europe have clearly shown Israel as a threat to world peace.

Second, Iran has commodities that is in high demand, and Russia denying those S-300 to Iran has only exposed the double-faced and lack of independence of the Russian government at the time. Today, Russia is under severe economic sanctions from the West and is trying all it can to form an alliance with Iran. Additionally, Russia denying those S-300 SAMs has only hastened the indigenous Iranian SAM development, and today many Iranian missiles such Sayad-2, Sayad-3, Talash, and soon to be unveiled Bavar-373 are developed and produced. It was indeed a blessing in disguise that Iran turned inward and get down to the basics in order to fill that missile gap.

With respect to other back door deals between the so-called "Big 5," Iran is a rising regional power, with a strong scientific and vibrant society, in addition to huge natural resources. Iran's strategic location is also a gift to its ambitions as it has access to 3 seas: Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean, and Caspian Sea. Most importantly, Iran is beating the sanctions. China, India, South Korea, Turkey, and Japan are already buying Iranian oil with no "third fiat money" in the middle. Its economy is moving away from petroleum dependency, and it is confidant that its military can beat up any foreign invasion. So, why is left to Zionist henchmen? Iranian mullah this, Iranian mullah that. Does anyone else sense a desperation?

.
so far nothing much, apart from crippling Iran's economy, which otherwise will have been booming giving Iran's high scientific pool, literacy, hard working/skillful citizens, strive for industrialization/self sufficience, large oil and gas reserve etc. They could have easily be the undisputed leader in the middle east in all fields, too bad their religious Mullah's are holding this country back

mike ...

Before 1979 there was a saying in Iran's society !

" We can't make a simple screw "

This is what your beloved empire tried to put in our minds :

You can't ... You can't ... You can't ... You can't ... You can't ...

Do you know the reason !?

Fear !

They know what will happen if we start to produce ...

Only 5 years ... then we can judge about : holding this country back !

То the results of the visit of Sergei Shoigu to Tehran

_reduce_image.php

21 January 2015

A successful visit of Russian Defense Minister in Tehran, ended with the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on military cooperation between our two countries, allows for the question of whether there is a reality cooperation between Russia and Iran in the field of defense and security, a clear answer "Yes!"

However, Sergei Shoigu at the final ceremony of the signing of this document rightly noted that while only the first step, while "established the theoretical basis of cooperation in the military sphere," which has yet to fill specific projects. But in contrast to the state of a number of other areas of the Iranian-Russian cooperation in the military leadership in Moscow and Tehran have clearly articulated "road map" of relations in the field of defense and security. Therefore, the agreement, and here we are a little recovered accustomed to exercise maximum restraint in the estimates of our minister of defense, not so much "theoretical framework" as a real foundation for subsequent agreements. Most of which, we note, in one form or another have worked out for almost a year.

201336200236_esmaeili.jpg0.jpg

The beginning of this work was started in October 2013, during a visit to Iran, the Russian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Alexander Bondarev. And at the finish line dialogue on ways of further development of the Iranian-Russian cooperation in the defense sector came after a personal meeting Sergey Shoigu and Hossein Dehghan in May 2014, the end of which they stated that "Russia and Iran will develop military and military-technical cooperation, given the current political situation in the world. " Noting that the main task of the parties consider the transition of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the field of security "to a new level."

For a thorough study of all the details common to Moscow and Tehran approaches to cooperation in the defense sector took several months. This period was due not so much "smoothing" sharp corners, as the fact that the negotiation process wedged regional security issues. They are - an integral part of the dialogue between the military and political leaders of our countries, because without the development of common approaches to common for Russian and Iranian threats and challenges, the intention in defense partnership at risk of becoming simply another set of "good intentions and good intentions", which without missing a Russian-iraskih relations.

Basic principles of defense cooperation between Moscow and Tehran

At the closing ceremony of the Russian and Iranian defense ministers exchanged statements that, in fact, are common to our countries the principle of regional security. "The situation in the region and in the world requires a strong and powerful Russia, Iran to jointly promote the strengthening of international security and regional stability" - Iranian Defense Minister. "We have common challenges and threats in the region, which can only confront together" - backed him Sergei Shoigu. And the main common goal, as explained by the Iranian defense minister - is "the struggle with the intervention of outside forces in the region."

Military inherent brevity and clarity limit, but because "extraregional power" did not remain anonymous. The main cause of deterioration of the situation in the region, "is the destructive policy of the US, to intervene in the internal affairs of other countries," - said Hossein Dehghan. And, apparently, his Russian counterpart completely from this point of view. As the threats and challenges that are created today for the West and Moscow, Tehran and in general the same - whether it's "Afghan", "Iraqi" or "Syrian" direction.

In general, the talks between Sergei Shoigu and his Iranian counterpart, characterized, according to sources close to the delegations utmost sincerity and openness. The general atmosphere of the visit of Russian Defense Minister in Tehran strikingly different from what usually happens with the "civilian counterparts" of the defense ministers of the two countries. Maybe it comes from the fact that, unlike the "economic unit" in Moscow that Tehran was strongly influenced by liberal ideas, "siloviki" our countries more clearly understand that the Middle East has come "moment of truth" . Moment when you need not look at the geopolitical machinations of the White House, and to create their own regional blocs, at the same level to "extinguish" conflicts do not involve the healing of "pain points" overseas and European "doctors from geopolitics." In this regard, more ambiguous phrase sounded Russian defense minister that Moscow will continue dialogue with Iran on security issues during Russia's presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Does this phrase that Iran has finally become a full member of the SCO? Very hopefully, as it not only activates the creation of a new regional security architecture, but also give a new impetus to the SCO itself to development.

What will the new format of the Russian-Iranian military-technical cooperation?

One of the main results of the visit of Sergei Shoigu to Iran is certainly to be considered in-depth discussion of prospects for military-technical cooperation between our countries, to be exact - the new format it. The signing of the "nuclear contract" Russia has already proved that it is capable of strategic industries do not look at the whims and unilateral sanctions by Washington and the European Union. Now it was the turn of the defense sphere. Intergovernmental agreement signed in Tehran - a rather general document. According to the text, the military authorities of the two countries will exchange delegations to maintain contacts at the headquarters level, invite each other to teaching, to train personnel and implement mutual visits of naval ships.

It is obvious that the real needs of defense cooperation for our countries is much broader. They have yet to issue separate protocols, which are now a matter of urgency will prepare ministries and agencies of Russia and Iran. But in the process of working on these documents to answer the most important question, the question of MTC format - trade or cooperation? Or, perhaps, both. Naturally, the discussion on this subject between the defense ministries of our countries do not become the subject of public discussion. Therefore, all that is written below - only the editorial board To iran.ru that has no relation to the official position of the relevant ministries of our countries.

Today, the military-technical cooperation between Moscow and Tehran have two ways of further development. The first is largely worn even profitable, but one-sided - only and exclusively the sale of Russian weapons. In fact, a return to the two previous periods: between 1990-2000 and between 2000-2007 years.

IRAN%20DEZFUL.jpg

In the first of them bought from Moscow to Tehran weapons worth about four billion dollars. Including - two anti-aircraft missile system S-200VE, 20 MiG-29 fighters, 12 Sukhoi Su-24MK, 12 Mi-17 helicopters, three diesel-electric submarine of the project 877 EKM, 126 T-72S plus 300 assembly kits and 413 BMP-2.

In the second - the volume of Russian sales amounted to 85 percent of Tehran's military imports, which at that time was, in particular, 33 multi-purpose military transport helicopters Mi-171 and Mi-171SH, 6 Su-25UBK 29 complexes "Tor-M1".

Thus, the total sales of approximately six billion dollars. It is possible that a couple of billion Russia will be able to "take" on participation in the modernization of the national machinery, operated by the Iranian army. But Tehran has already outgrown the level of mere "purchaser" of weapons, evidence of which - the country's success in the field of missile and other technologies, including dual-use technologies. And because today he seeks not only to the role of buyer of Russian weapons, and offers a slightly different level of cooperation - joint research and development work, That is such a format of MTC, which exists only in Russia and China.

Homework for the Defense Ministers of Russia and Iran

In the Iranian military is already ready to offer the Russian side on joint projects in the field of rocketry, production of drones, helicopter and develop means of technical intelligence. Moreover, it is not a complete list of areas of cooperation offered by the Iranians. By the way, the above-described new format MTC between Russia and Iran and offered to "close" the question of the S-300. The Iranian side has made it clear that, of course, will not give up the acquisition of S "Antey-2500", which have been offered to her instead of "trehsotok," but at the same time invited Russia to participate in the modernization of existing Iranian S-200, which are essentially a copy of the S-300PS, Tehran purchased from Russia in 1993, as independent works of the Iranian defense industry in this direction so far have not achieved much success.

map-south-asia2.jpg

Following the talks, the Russian defense minister with his colleagues in Tehran, and there is no doubt that in the near future the sides will start technical work on the exchange of information obtained by means of technical intelligence. Iran successfully operating system of monitoring the operational situation in the Persian Gulf. In Russia, including the CSTO, actively restored to a qualitatively new level of system monitoring the situation on the "southbound" includes Central Asia. Experts of the two countries have long been raising the issue of cooperation in this sensitive area, the more that the Syrian events and reached there the interaction of our experts to say with confidence that this exchange of information and the expansion of the monitoring system for Afghanistan meets the security interests of both Moscow and Tehran.

*********

Of course, the results of the visit of Sergei Shoigu in Iran is not confined only to the military-technical issues. One of the main points of the joint agenda was to discuss the situation prevailing in Afghanistan. And besides, said about the Caspian Sea, and the threat of drug trafficking and terrorism. Mention briefly about all this would be absolutely wrong. Therefore, these issues will be the subject of separate articles Iran.ru. Especially the results of a Russian defense minister have such far-reaching implications that will have to talk about them again and again.

MOSCOW, January 29 (Sputnik) — Russia's Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol is in talks with Iran on modernizing the short range Tor-M1 (SA-15 Gauntlet) surface-to-air missile defense systems, the plant's assistant director general told RIA Novosti Thursday.
"Iran has been operating a large number of our Tor-M1s. We [Iran and Russia] are holding talks about a possible modernization of the Tor-M1. We provide [Iran] with spare parts and train personnel. The work continues," said Vyacheslav Kartashov, liaison for military-technical cooperation and government contracts.

According to Kartashov, Iranian experts "professionally operate" the Tor-M1 missile systems, and provide for its maintenance.

"The equipment is in an excellent combat condition. Perhaps, this is one of the factors withholding the potential aggressor," he said.

Russia completed the delivery of 29 Tor-M1 missiles to Iran in January 2007. In September 2010, Moscow joined the UN sanctions against the country, prohibiting almost all arms trade, in response to Iran's controversial nuclear activities.

WikiLeaks: Russia gave Israel Iranian codes

Latest round of leaks suggest Russia gave Israel codes to access Iran’s Tor- M1 air-defense systems.

Russia provided Israel security codes to access Iran’s Tor- M1 air-defense systems in exchange for an Israeli handover of codes to “hack” drones sold to Georgia, according to a leaked email from a private American intelligence company.

An employee for Stratfor wrote the report, dated February 2009, and cited a “Mexican source,” described as a former police officer and a current military analyst.

WikiLeaks published the email and announced this week that it was targeting Stratfor by releasing over 5 million emails stolen from its servers.

“I inquired more about the compromised Israeli UAVs. What he explained was that Israel and Russia made a swap – Israel gave Russia the ‘data link’ code for those specific UAVs; in return, Russia gave Israel the codes for Iran’s Tor-M1s,” the email said.

The Tor-M1 defense system is made up of launch vehicles carrying batteries of surface-to- air missiles. It can detect and track up to 48 targets in the air, and can operate in an “intensive aerial jamming environment,” according to the Defense Update website.

Iran purchased 29 systems from Russia in 2005, the website said.

The Mexican source said he did not think Moscow would sell the advanced S-300 aerial defense system to Iran, the report continued, adding that Israel and Turkey had been “collaborating very closely” on studying the platform.

“He explained how about 8 years ago when Russia sold S- 300s to Greece to base in Crete (which were supposed to protect Cyprus), Russia delivered those with a carrier so that Turkey wouldn’t try to sink them. (things got a bit noisy so i may have misheard some of this), [sic]” the email said.

“The gist of what he said is that Turkey has been cracking the S-300 since the Crete sale and has been sharing intel on the S-300 with the Israelis to ensure that they retain an advantage over Iran should Iran get them from the Russians,” it added.

The real reason that the S-300 was not delivered to iran has now been revealed: bloombergD0TC0M /news/articles/2015-05-04/russian-missile-sale-to-iran-involves-unseen-deals-with-israel

Israel agreed to sell russia their most advanced drones. Russia has now received these and has reverse engineered them, they no longer need to remain loyal to israel any more, israel also agreed not to sell drones to ukraine. Russia has no said that they might sell the S-300 to iran once iran's sanctions have been fully lifted.

Iran remotely landed america's sentinel drone a few years ago and now russia has israel's most advanced drone too now. I assume that iran has given russia the information about the sentinel drone, if so russia can create a drone using the best american, israeli and russia designed incorporated to make a world-challenging drone which is something russia was badly needing.

Why would Russia need to buy drones from Israel? Israel doesn't even sell its best drones to Russia. China's Wing Loong for example is much better than the one Russia got from Israel which is Searcher 2 that's like Iran's Mohajer 4.
