Iran retaliates to Indian oil cut plans

I don't believe in d1ck measuring however just to explain my POV using some old news...

Does above news = Iran/Pakistan are enemies?? Look relations b/w two nations needs to be looked at from broader perspective. If you start looking at relations b/w nations over every single business transaction then it will give you a very faulty picture...Just go through the links below and tell if you find it to be purely business transaction or non-friendly nations deals...

http://www.firstpost.com/business/i...ment-in-iran-to-favourable-terms-2722026.html

There is not a single reason that Iran and India should have non-friendly relations...there is nothing out there for which we compete....both sides are going to loose...so rest assured that apart from extracting the maximum economic benefits all these maneuvers will lead to nothing else...Iran would not want to loose a market like India and India would not want to loose diversification for fulfilling her energy needs...

India/Iran relations were stagnant prior to modi, I only bring up Chabhar becasue that was the major part of the attempted revival of relations.

If you look at things from the broader perspective then what does it look like? not much? Iran still has good ties with Pakistan, Iran still has a similar stance with Afghanistan, Iran-Indian relations still have a certain air around them.

Im not saying that Iran and India should not have friendly relations, in fact I encourage it. The only reason i am even commenting is because the primary purpose of Chabhar, linking Afghanistan, Reviving Iran ties, is to "contain/isolate" Pakistan, in fact indian political analysts in the links I posted were more concerned and motivated by CPEC running smoothly than with Chabhar Port. Its clear to me, and likely Iranian officials (judging by their CPEC stance), that India is clearly trying to use Iran and are more motivated by other purposes than by trading or building friendly relations.

.
By delayed payment are you referring to credit period? If yes, then just FYI - credit period is the norm in oil market..

no i am not talking about this, i am talking about when you were not paying for few years due to sanctions, you only paid for 45% that too in your shitty rupees and some $6 or 7 billions were still due on your side recently.

This is the prime problem with most of Pakistani friends...We need access to Central Asia...you wont allow us that passage so what is your expectation from us? Sit idle?? let me ask this...did u start CPEC to isolate India?? Unlike Gwadar where PLAN may have presence or will have one, there is no scope for Indian Navy to have any base in Iran...so saying every actions revolves around isolating Pakistan is absurd...not that we don't want that to happen(your isolation)...we would love it...however the way every single action of yours is not related to Kashmir..similarly every single action from our side is not to isolate you...

.
on delayed payment.. very generous of you.. lol
We paid in rupees and in barter method!!
We are generous considering other countries were too scared of America to do even that!

Dude atleast have the decency to debate properly...now if our rupees are shitty then god know what would the name of your currency....anyways...let me educate you on the subject...During sanctions this was the only way to pay Iranians...Sanctions would have been even more crippling had countries like India also backed out due to American pressure...and that's why this payment mechanism was created and accepted by both parties.....and obviously changed back to $$$ with credit period post sanctions era....

so you benefited from those sanctions, you were not doing any favour at all. you benefited heavily with delayed payment. @egodoc222 then why call them ungrateful when they owe you nothing? instead you should be thankful.

I dont want to get into why you are denied, but of course the source is the Kashmir issue.

Also, we did invite you to take part in CPEC which would have given you access to Central Asia, and like many conversations with Indians on this forum your people were saying "India is too good for cheap central Asian garbage", so even if we did officially allow you I can guarantee nothing would change.

did u start CPEC to isolate India?

Please tell me you arent serious

.similarly every single action from our side is not to isolate you...

maybe you also get a good deal on resources, but the primary purpose as I stated is because of your strategy to "contain/isolate" Pakistan. Iran-India relations were stagnant and then the fascist/hyper nationalist Modi goes running straight to Iran right after CPEC was announced, its no coincidence my friend

Good to see India is adopting hardline trade policy with Iran
While state refiners have cut imports by 20%, another Indian company has doubled imports from Iran last month.

India's Essar doubles Iran oil imports in Feb vs Jan - trade
Reuters | Mar 31, 2017, 05.10PM IST

Just last week India announced $ 3 billion investment in Iran at thevsane time as announcing import cuts:

Epic Fail.
Two month old report.:lol::lol:

This is the latest from 2-3 days back:

India's ONGC Videsh to Spend Over $3 Billion on Iran Gas Block

4 April 2017, 15:27 GMT+5:30
The overseas arm of India’s biggest oil and gas explorer intends to spend more than $3 billion on Iran’s Farzad-B natural gas block.

ONGC last month submitted a revised plan to the Iranian government for the block, which the company will be able to develop within five years, Managing Director N.K. Verma told reporters in Mumbai on Tuesday. The Indian oil company is now waiting for feedback from Tehran, Verma said.

No body does any favor...we were not benefited from those sanctions....we invested lot of political capital to bypass American sanctions which were very crippling and we could have end up with our A$$ on fire...similarly Iran didn't to any favor to us...as they badly needed a way out...similarly when iran backed off from that temporary payment method post sanctions they didn't backstab us or did any disfavor to us...

Its simple economics...the same oil was sold at over $100 barrel when the market was sellers market...and now is under $50 when we have buyers market...no body doing any favor to anyone...

Thats what i said in two lines, you dont need to explain everything.

Well that is the standard answer for anything and everything...since we both are not going to move in that direction..we can conclude that India needs to find alternate route...

...are you kidding me?? Even you know your invitation is farce...if you were serious you would have involved us much earlier.....and why CPEC...we were denied even a simple land route to Afghanistan......why even land route...you failed to even give us an MFN status...a status that we gave you in 90's and something that every country gives to every other country...look we can both look south or state facts...you take a pick...

Please tell me you arent serious
I believe Pakistan opted for CPEC for economic reasons...you have some different thoughts??

maybe you also get a good deal on resources, but the primary purpose as I stated is because of your strategy to "contain/isolate" Pakistan. What you mean by stagnant...Obviously there is a limit of things you could do when Iran was heavily sanctioned...you can track the progress of proposed gas pipeline b/w Iran and Pakistan and you will know what I mean.. ....Just for records Chahbahar port b/w India and Iran was first coined in 2003....Modi came in 2014....Iran sanctions were lifted(process started) in 2015 June...and we inked our bilateral agreement to refurbish one of the berth there in June 2016....now CPEC was formally announced in 2014(correct me if i am wrong here)... ..so are you saying that our leadership thought about Chahbahar port in 2003 so that they can isolate you in 2016 against a project announced in 2014??

Now here is more logical explanation...we always wanted access to central Asia...one has to be nuts to not expand your trade horizons...With Pakistan an arch rival and AF under Taliban there was a deadlock and once they were ousted it makes perfect sense that our leadership started talking to Iran about Chahbahar in 2003... and thereafter GOI working pace complemented by US-Iran bonhomie and 10 years of MMS, all played its part....With sanctions out of the picture and more focussed central leadership we have started doing what i believe should have been achieved by now...Regardless linking this to Pakistan isolation is absurd...

.
Lol...ungrateful Iranians!! We stood against American sanctions to buy oil from you!!
We'll see who will buy your oil when next round of sanctions come up!!
You got cheap oil. You didn't do any one favor.

. .
If you buy less you pay more.

You get a better deal when you volume and/or enter a long term commitment.

You can't have both !!!
