'Iran ready to send peacekeepers to UK'

I have to make dear Iranians aware, in the full knowledge of their poor geographic knowledge in general, that the United Kingdom of Looters is currently located in the Hood of Jamaica, not that far from Haiti. All the best!

Iran, you so crazy.

Why can't the Pakistani Gov be like Iran's.

Iran is too late, the riots is not as bad compared to 2-3 days ago :(

I wish more muslim countries had leaders who had the balls to take on the west and give them as good as they get.

Iran is sitting on the 2nd/3rd largest known gas and petroleum reserves in the world and yet they are forced to send the latter to Kuwait to get refined because they lack the capacity and infrastructure to refine it completely on their own....and that is because there's lack of FDI in this sector (UN-imposed sanctions)

they have fuel rationing......despite all their natural wealth.

balls and defiance may earn them respect, but is all this isolation worth it for them?

its not good to be a chamcha....but it's also not good to be a sheep that everyone sees as a wolf when rather its better to be a wolf that everyone sees as a sheep.

the Turkish model and approach is the best in my mind.......

Iran does have balls though....gotta give it to them. They've held their ground and maintained their stand.

Things are not as dark in Iran either. The fuel rationing is actually part of a wider economic reform which would see Iran phasing out all of its subsidies on fuel and food. This program has already been praised by IMF. Ofcourse you can not go in and increase the price for a liter of petrol from 3 cents to 1 dollar in one go and that is why the rationing was there to give people 100 liters of subsidized petrol at 3 cents a liter per month while they can go and buy as much they like at the price of 1 dollar a liter. Also do not forget that Iran is an exporter of refined fuel, though not much but millions of liters are exported every day to Iraq and Afghanistan. Since last year, Iran has not imported a drop of refined fuel due to sanctions but Iran is still running so that is the proof. Another thing is that Iran has been converting its cars to CNG since 2007, which is cleaner and more abundant than liquid fuel. Infact Iran is just about to overtake Pakistan as the world's leader in clean burning CNG. See here: Natural Gas Vehicle Statistics

Iranians protest over UK police 'savagery' in riots

TEHRAN: Some 200 students held a demonstration outside the British embassy in Tehran on Sunday to protest at what President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the “savage” police treatment of people involved in street unrest in London last week.

Watched by around 50 riot police, some students threw eggs toward the embassy compound and at the end of the protest they held up masks of Mark Duggan, the man whose shooting by police sparked the protests and riots in Britain.

Some protesters carried anti-British placards. One read: “London 2011, Tehran 1979, throw off your shah!” a reference to Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution which overthrew a Western-backed king.

For many years Iran has been on the receiving end of criticism from Western countries over its human rights record, especially the crushing of demonstrations after the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in June 2009.

Iranian politicians have called on the United Nations to condemn Britain. The leader of the Basij militia, which battled anti-Ahmadinejad protesters in 2009, offered to send his forces to London, Liverpool and Birmingham “to act as a peacekeeping force and a buffer between repressive forces of the royal regime and the British people.”

Hojat Alamdari, a 26-year-old engineering student at the protest, told Reuters TV: “People around the world don’t link the issues of Great Britain to looting by rioters. The problem is that the people of that country have demands and certain rights, and are calling on their government to rectify their political and economic issues.”

Britain’s top diplomat in Tehran has told the government she would be happy to discuss events in Britain and encouraged Iran to allow a UN human rights rapporteur for Iran to be allowed into the country to look into its crackdown on the opposition and frequent use of the death penalty.

Other countries long used to Western criticism of their human rights records are relishing Britain’s embarrassment over the unrest on its streets.

Libyan state television said Prime Minister David Cameron was using Irish and Scottish “mercenaries” to tame the riots in English cities.

Now Now. If Iran does not act like a world power then the Iranian people will realize that their revolution only made matters worse for them. If the regime does not act all strong and might then Iranian people will start to think that the supreme leader Idea was a bad one that only got them Isolated from the world.

So yeah in the end of the day Iran's regime press conferences are not really targeted as "Western forces" or "Imperial regimes" They are targeted to all Iranians and Iranian sympathizers to make them go :cheesy:

Let it be known that in all my days of being here this is the first time I criticized Iran in this manner I could be wrong though but this is just a theory that came to my mind.
