What's new

Iran produces its own Submarine new one for Israel

These are most likely to be more Iranian Ghadir class submarines with some technological upgrades. The Persian Gulf is a relatively small and shallow area. Having such small and inexpensive but versatile vessels in high numbers is quiet useful for Iran. The Ghadir is perhaps not very stealthy but it is small and can carry an array of mines as well. There are at least eight of them in service but the number is likely to be more. Iran has been equipping it's submarine fleet with two of these on a continuous yearly basis. Certainly if employed like 'regular subs' they are very weak.

A patrol submarine with a displacement of 400-1000tons would be best for anti-surface operations in the given environment for anything larger allows itself to become an easy target in the shallow and murky waters of the Persian Gulf.

Ghadir Class Submarine

Dimensions
Displacement: 120 tons
Length: 29 m
Beam: 2.75 m

Characteristics
Speed (surface): 11 knots
Speed (submerged): 8 knots

Armament
Two 533 mm torpedoes
Or a variety of mines

Iran does have two other Submarine projects though. One of these is the Qaeem class submarine has been much debated especially after some pictures emerged of a rather advanced looking submarine model a few years back. Basically, nothing is known of the project apart from the models that were presented. To me, it seems a rather distant project/ objective.

There is another yet another Iranian design on the Internet which appears more advanced than the Qaeem and that is the Qaeshm. Again, little is known about it apart from the model. At best, they are future / long-term Iranian marine projects.

Iranian long term projects (Like Zolfaghar3, Shafaq, etc..) are not funded enough. So you mean it isn't going to come out? Because most of the budget is going to Missile technology.

I have found some pics if you want.

Iran often claims of big things....But with no specification coming out to media i doubt the product quality. Most of the countries hide the actual specification but they do let out some Info...

I guess u right cuz we never get details of their developed systems...But one thing i know that some iranian scientists are expert in military electronics..like VHDL systems called very high speed hardware description language for integrated circuit designs...

The entire existence of the above mentioned mystery submarine projects are based on the model displays alone as far as open media sources are concerned. The project is long term in the sense that it's existence provides the assumption that these are longer-term aspirations for there is no visible orientation towards their actual realization at present-- in which case they might never become realized projects or were even perhaps never intended to be as well. Hence, by all accounts specifically the above mentioned ones are not going to come out and moreover they do not match Iran's present doctrine or military needs. They are regarded as future projects for they need would be necessitated by a more expanded Iranian military operational spectrum in naval terms which would arrive in a more distant time at best.
