Iran Parliament condemns merger of KSA, Bahrain

Any power which can exert influence in Persian gulf will control the oil futures of these countries - no doubt about that.

The Iranian hostility emerges from the Arab alignment with Americans for security in the Persian Gulf - a failure of Irans own Ayatollah obession who have taken the path of arrogance rather than dialogue, mutual respect and co-operation. Iranian arrogance is a suicide for both as long as oil futures are concerned. Since the removal of Saddam - the US naval fleet has no excuse to stay in the Persian gulf lest they stir the pot of Iranian threats day and night.

On the other side it is pathetic to see how Arab leaders soil their thoobs just by the name of Iran and take desperate measures...their worst fear is influence of Persian culture when they have already borrowed heavily from Persia - which has been a great patron of sciences, arts, civilization, architecture and human values but have no problems in opening their air waves to lewd western values and emulating them as well.

The khalifas have been exploiting religious differences for political legitimacy but in any scenario like this - sh_t is ought to hit the fan sooner or later. One simply cannot go against the majority. And for this reason, the GCC merger talks have already failed. GCC is an artificial entity which can only survive as a trade model on the lines of EU..but the ethnic and cultural differences are too vast to advocate a merger.

I just wish the peace, stability and prosperity of KSA should not come under threat of war..it will be a heavy blow and reverse all the gains of last seven years of development.

Mate I agree with most of what you say. But in the case of Iran belligerence by Israel does not help. It takes two hands to clap

Any Saudi person can you tell me one thing, i used to go Bahrain on weekends from Dammam, i have seen saudi people going into Bahrain on weekends for drinking as drinking and clubs are legal in Bahrain,

with this merger what will happen, drinking and clubs, cinemas, legal in one part of the country and illegal in other parts ???

.
They are however OUR mercenaries :P hahahahha

I had a talk just yesterday with Jordanian policemen who served in Bahrain, and they were replaced by others from Jordan as well. They told me about terrorist attacks with Molotove and guns bاy the terrorists as well as sabotaging governmental facilities. I am so glad that we helped in undermining those terrorists threat to Bahrain. About "mercenary" thing our Iranian freinds came up with, we are all Arabs, one people and one nation.

Bahrain hasn't merged with KSA yet, so, as for now, Bahrain is a sovereign country that has it's own internal policy.

.
Bahrain is only the beginning. Then the rest of GCC countries will be united. Then Jordan and then Yemen if everything goes as planned. Then after that Egypt but with Egypt it will take a few decades to fully prepare it. Then Syria once Assad eventually go.

And there you go a modern day Empire in the making.

Growing some good hashish in your backyard?

LOL. Do they tell you such jokes in Arabia? Really?
Egypt, as a proud glorious country with tourism industry, joins the group of countries that everyone in the world, even in the allied west, looks down on them? Are Egyptians crazy to completely ruin their country with that decision?

Ignore him. He's trying to recapture some non-existent Arab glory after smoking all that dope.

What do they actually mean by annex? Is Bahrain just going to function as a state or province within Saudi Arabia henceforth? Or is it something like the China-Hongkong union. One-nation, two systems. Or a dual monarchy kind of thing?

You clearly have no idea what you are taking about. There is NO cluster of countries more homogeneous than GCC. Ethnic and Culture!!
The real reason why they might not unite is because the smaller countries are afraid to be swallowed by SA. The people them selves very much supported.

People are misunderstanding the issue. The merger won't make them one country!, they will just unite defence, foreign affairs ministry and other things. Local laws won't be affected. So it will be something between the US and EU.

All of you need some real education..When i drive from Jeddah to Najd - its like a going from one part of civilization to another..and you are telling me there is no diversity in the entire GCC and everything is homogeneous like preached by the mullahs...this is the fruit of black and white education system which kills all rationality and more importantly the grey matter..

tell me what is common between lets say..people of Jeddah and Riyadh?? Other than the same religion and language??

Heck, the Najdis and the Hejazis can even stand each other eye to eye..

Its not education its deprogramming they need some of the Arabs on here behave as if the belong to a cult

.
you should be the first one

living in the kingdom doesn't mean you understood the structure its society.:coffee:

definitely a pathetic case of trolling..two people cannot even marry between opposing tribes..and here we have someone who claims no differences in the entire GCC..

instead of being factual you come to your usual mode of trolling and ridicule..how pathetic!

¶1. (U) Three years and two children into a happy marriage, a
Saudi couple in Al-Jouf, a city in the northern part of the
Kingdom, have seen their marriage annulled on the grounds
that it violated social custom. According to several media
reports, the woman's half-brother filed the lawsuit in August
2005 without her knowledge. He claimed that the marriage was
void because the woman is a member of a noble Saudi tribe,
while her husband is non-tribal. The judge agreed and
ignored the fact that permission had been granted by both the
woman's father and the local Islamic court. He ignored the
father's permission because the father had died three months
prior to the lawsuit. The court did not give a specific
reason for ignoring the Islamic court's role in the marriage,
but cited tribal issues as trumping religious ones, stating
that the marriage was illegal because the man's social status
was not equal to the woman's status.

¶2. (C) The court decreed the divorce final and ordered the
woman to live with her half-brother. She refused and has
chosen to stay in jail rather than live with her siblings.
She reportedly said, "I prefer the protection of the
government to living with brothers who destroyed my happy
family life." The wife's comment about protection here
alludes to the possibility that her brother might have tried
to kill her and her husband for the disgrace that his low
social status had supposedly brought upon their family.

¶3. (C) COMMENT: The ruling of the Al-Jouf court indicates
that tribal norms and customs in practice often outweigh
Shari'a law. It also reveals the deep-seated prejudices many
Saudis have against non-tribal individuals, who are known as
"Khudairees." The tribal nature of Saudi society remains
strong, despite modernization and religious values, although
this aspect of Saudi life is only rarely reported in the
media.

Its not education its deprogramming they need some of the Arabs on here behave as if the belong to a cult

the Iranian cult is more dangerous...

I personally would encourage this union or whatever it is. It will end up being a long and sharp thorn in the gelatinous behinds of the fat saudi rulers. Who could argue with that?

Dude - it has always been like this then they wonder why the Shia sided with the mongols? Instead of studying decaptiated history we must follow a complete chain of events as there were considerable shia-sunni tensions in Baghdad present already during the Abbasid time and the shia saw mongol invasion as a chance to settle score..simple as that...there is no such thing as Ummah or what so ever vision a commie mullah wants to sell you.

Wasnt Iran defeated by the mongols?

Wasnt Iran defeated by the mongols?

Khrawezmid empire was overrun by Mongols (considered a predecessor to modern day Iran). It is true that a section of higher ups, mainly composed of Shias, sided with the Mongols during the invasion. This was due to the considerable sectarian tensions present at that time just like today.
