I love Pakistanis but I think you need to be a bit realistic, having nukes does not make you a superpower. You don't even control all of the land in your country so how can you be a regional power? Your economy is in shambles, you have an energy crisis, floods, insurgency etc etc. Pakistan certainly has the potential with its huge population, but they're not a superpower by anyones standards.

When did anyone say about Pakistan being a superpower? We do, however, can change fates in the region for superpowers like in the 1980's for Soviet Union and today for America. Pakistan is strategically located, and the Pakistan army and ISI are one of the most powerful and largest military units in the world. Pakistan has the largest army in the Muslim world and only Muslim country that is a nuclear power. Iran is also a strong country in the Muslim world, thats why U.S. has not attacked Iran yet even though their best buddy Israel keeps beeging U.S to.

I never heard any Pakistani calls themselves superpower.

Same for us, we are not superpower.

How does gwadar port and pipe line to china related? Do they pump sea water to china. Since it is warm water!!

I still don't understan one line from china to arabian sea. India is not land locked so as iran. Why do we need pakistan for trade. If there is any pipe line we may need it. First bring gas to pakistan from Iran and talk.

Because Pakistan has a direct border with China, Iran doesn't. India & China are in competition for resources. The pipeline from Iran to Pakistan will be operational between 2013-2014, which was discussed in the PM's recent visit to Iran.

We dont need India for anything, and theres numerous threads on this forum about Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, we are not backing out of the pipeline like India did because of U.S. pressure.

It will be much quicker and economically better for China if it gets its oil supplies from Middle East through Pakistan's Gwadar Port than the current route.

And Iran can also export energy to the largest populated nation through Pak Sarzameen (Our Pure Land).

Pakistan is basically in the center stage of countries that count. If we honestly utilize our advantage, we can become the top in trade within Asia. Pakistan uses and supplies gas. Profit is obviously to be made.

India and China will have to pay Pakistan transit fees to get gas from Iran. Do you think we will let the gas go to India for free

I think the Chinese are smart enough, on how to utilize the gas they are receiving, and redistribute it with self constructed pipe lines, within their nation.

What Indians must realize is that no matter how much they modernize their port cities such as Mumbai, the trade of Asia will always flow through Pakistan due to it's geographical location.

The only land that connects China with Afghanistan is the narrow mountainous Wakhan Corridor and why would China chose war-torn unstable Afghanistan over its traditional neighboring ally for trade and energy route.

And China we all know its a big country. Western China is also part of China, as long as the energy gets to China....our job is done. Its upto China what to do with the energy when it reaches its soil. Still the route is quicker through Pakistan than the current route and their oil supplies wont have to go near India to reach China.

How is pakistan strategically located ? Once WOT in afghanistan ends, I believe no one even locate where pakistan is on the map.

OK let me break it down for you :

India and China are huge countries with huge population and they need resources/oil due to their developing economies.Middle-East/Iran have alot,alot of resources ...Central Asia has HUGE resources but it is land-locked..Now there is one country X in the region which is a junction between Middle-East,Iran,China,India,Central Asia and Arabian Sea.That country borders with India,Iran and China directly.That country is the shortest root to the Arabian sea and central Asia.That country has one of the largest sea ports in the region..Karachi seaport.It is also building another huge sea port on Arabian sea.This country also has relatively much developed infrastructure-sea ports,air ports,roads,means of transportation etc .. Afghanistan (another country that can be used for accessing central Asia via Iran) is very unstable,land-locked and also without any infrastructure at all..not to mention rigid terrain and mountains inhabiting different conflicting tribes)
