Well depends on the neighbor as well. China trade with US more than its neighbors. So just being a neighbor doesnt mean there is potential; Again what has Pakistan missed with Iran that it sold itself out to Saudi Arabia according to you? We are not here to meet other countries expectations. The butt hurt that Iran is feeling, we can understand that but anything beyond and Iran will be met with a response they will remember for a long time. Even India could not isolate Pakistan with all its so called economy and might, forget Iran that is itself a sponsor of terrorism in the entire middle east. I will repeat that previously when Pakistan had enough evidence whereby people like KJ (Indian Spy) and Uzair Baloch of Liyari Gang War and few others from BLF/BLA used to travel freely to/from Iran, had Iranian Visas but Pakistan did not reacted in similar fashion at all rather, opted for approach different to usual diplomatic practices. Iran has been hosting India in Chabahar but despite that, Pakistan offered to partner in CPEC.
