Iran Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman held the fifth maritime search and rescue [PIC]

Iranian and Omani navies have held joint maritime rescue drills in Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
Commander of Iran's 1st Naval Zone Adm. Hossein Azad told reporters on Wednesday that the drill aimed at strengthening military relations of Iran and Oman; “the drill involved joint maritime and aerial units of the Navy, IRGC naval force, Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping, and Oman’s Army Navy; the drill constructs the rescue operation by the operation center, rescue units, and a damaged ship, where units rescue engage in firefighting operation, airlifting crews, and additional maneuvering necessary to transit the whole paraphernalia of the drill to coast,” he detailed.

“The drill also has as its fleet Alvand destroyer, missile-launcher Lavan battleship, Rostami missile-launcher battleship, two helicopters, hovercraft, two tows, IRGC naval force speedboats and tows, Islamic Republic of Iran’s Shipping rescue operation units, and Oman’s relief and rescue ships,” Azad told reporters.

The commander also said that the experience of more than a decade indicated that regional cooperation would guarantee the security of the countries and would provide nautical security; “our experiences have come from years of the Sacred Defense (with Iraq); no other navy except Iran’s army's could have engaged in battles with sea pirates and could have saved two ships and arrested sea pirates without any casualties,” he lavished praise upon the Navy.

That is Oman is neither Shia nor Sunni; it is Ibadi hence it is not much enthusiastic to take part in Shia-Sunni civil war.

Apart from Shia and Sunni division in Islam ,which occurred due to succession dispute and is most widely known, there were other division in Islam, for example there were Khawarijs which formed due to same succession dispute which divided Islam into Shia and Sunni. Khawarijs were suppressed and killed by Islamic Khalifs, and only few remnants were left in Oman as Ibadis. Leter they spread to Tanzania (Tanganika region) too. This group ,though widely reviled by both Shias and Sunnis has mostly remained aloof from Shia-Sunni civil war.

Thought the roots of Ibadis can be traced back to Khawarijs, they are not Khawarijs. Khawarijs are not a sect, they are anyone who Takfir others for political goals. Today's Khawarijs are Takfiris fighting from Syria to Pakistan and from Paris to California. Oman has nothing to do with it. Futhermore Oman has always had a cordial relationship with Iran. Even the current nuclear deal was brokered by Oman, to much chagrin of Saudis.

And OMAN is the best friend of India , and the most sane people among the Arabs are omanis who worry about the development about their country, and their people.
