I see. But i read something along these lines ''arms embargo lifted.. limited, fully after 5 years''... i cant find the source anymore but do you think this is likely ?No. Iran per UNSC resolution is not allowed to import and export any weapons currently. The weapons that Iran export for example to Iraq are actually against UNSC resolution. But the world powers are ignoring that because firstly they do not want to make Iran angry over just little conventional weapon export and also because the situation in Iraq is so dire that they have no other option.
But this five years limit is also irrelevant technically. Since if you order any modern weapon system (not second hand retired and rusting equipment in a warehouse) it takes five years from negotiation to the point that weapons are actually ready to be delivered. Often even more time is needed. Iran can negotiate now, just can not import them right away. For example Iran can negotiate with Russians over PAK FA and S-400, right now. Even if this 5 years was not there, still it will take five years from now to delivery. So this is basically a formality. After all Obama has to show something to his hardliners, otherwise he will be lynched for having signed this deal.
But more important than these military stuff is the non-military things. For example Iran really needs geostationary satellites. Both for civilian use as well as for drones. Things of this nature can be done quickly from now.
Those willy nilly amendments don't mean anything. Most of them were worded in a way that essentially asked, "do you oppose Iran getting a bomb?". Of course, everyone will vote yes on that.
I'm telling you, Obama has this in the bag per excerpt below from a NYT article this morning.
"Although some provisions, including the arms embargo, are expected to be especially contentious in Congress, Mr. Obama’s chances of ultimately prevailing are considered high. Even if the accord is voted down by one or both houses, he could veto that action, and he is likely to have the votes he would need to prevail in an effort to override the veto. But he has told aides that for an accord as important as this one — which he hopes will usher in a virtual truce with a country that has been a major American adversary for 35 years — he wants a congressional endorsement."

If i understood correctly, sanctions will be lifted when the IAEA has reached the Broader Conclusion that all nuclear material in Iran remains in peaceful activities, right ?
Is it not the something...It is the IAEA which is going to verify if Iran holds up the end of the deal.No. That is not the case. The sanctions are going to be lifted simultaneously as Iran holds up its part of the deal. If Iran pulls out of the deal, 65 days later sanctions return. So basically it is not really a inspection regime. It is a DEAL. Iran gives this and gets that. Simple.
* Sorry, to disappoint u, but arms embargo is not lifted. One of the important parts of the deal as the reports suggest:
At first, U.S refused to lift any of arms embargo until an unknown time in the future (and certainly they don't like it to be lifted ever), but after Iranian negotiators stood firm on their stance, latest reports suggest that an agreement on lifting of arms embargo was reached as below:
For 5 years, the embargo will be partially lifted, so Iran can sell arms to any country it wants and buy certain weapons (perhaps not big weapons like jets, missiles).
After 5 years, the arms embargo will be completely lifted and Iran will be like any other country in the world.
There are already reports that Russia is planning to sell a big number of PAK FA 5th gen fighter jets, specifically built for Iran, after 2020.
Is it not the something...It is the IAEA which is going to verify if Iran holds up the end of the deal.
If you say other wise can you share the source from the text ?
Not all arms though, in the radio the said arms like missile technology, do you think fighter jets are also included?Sorry, to disappoint u, but arms embargo is not lifted.
Tell that to Obama-hater @LeveragedBuyoutWith all the criticism leveled at Obama
He got the U.S out of two wars
Inherited an economy that was in recession and got it back on track
Reconciled with Cuba
And now this
He hasn't done too bad actually
* Sorry, to disappoint u, but arms embargo is not lifted.
* Your country is in deep economic crisis and u dream about super expensive toys.
* Dont forget that u still need to give billions upon billions to ur beloved genocidal maniac Assad.
There is no any change. SAM missiles were never part of the embargo. Not all arms though, in the radio the said arms like missile technology, do you think fighter jets are also included?
There is no any mention of lifting sanctions in 5 years.* Arms embargo will automatically lift in 5 years which is about the time when one starts negotiating for an arms deal and deliveries start. Iran will start weapon purchase negotiations with countries like China and Russia, and weapons will be delivered right on time. Obama has thought out everything perfectly.
Sanctions are only 1 reason for Iran economic crisis. Others are:* Iran's situation is not actually that dire: Here's how Iran might spend its massive economic windfall from a nuclear deal
Israel's situation though is seriously dire. It is getting isolated and its leader portrayed as a war mongering maniac bent on destruction almost like a caricature character. Expect serious criticism of Israel in the days ahead both in Western media and among politicians and public. The sort of criticism Israel has not experienced since its creation.
Giraffe lost half of the country despite Iranian billions and mercenaries.* Don't worry about Dr Assad. He will be fine. Worry about Nutandyahoo.
