Iran : Israels future at risk if efforts to topple Assad continues

And not one tank, not one combat aircraft, was American. You want someone to blame? I suggest you blame the primary culprit there, which was Russia. They and the French kept Saddam well equipped with weapons, not us.

We did not sell Saddam a single chemical munition. We sold him chemicals, as we do virtually every country on the planet, as one needs chemicals to do everything from making toothpaste to making insecticides for crops. That was all we did. It is American policy that we never place restrictions on agricultural products or medical products. That such items can be so called, dual use is no different that as I stated above; a truck, any truck, can be dual use, but that does not mean that we are selling "army" trucks to a country. As I said, the ONLY country that the United States sold any weapons to in the Iran-Iraq War...was yours.

As to the relationship my country's navy may have had with Saddam, you mean this one...

yes, you just sold the ingredients plus the assembly technology plus the info about iranian locations and then made sure that Iraq wont be denounced in the U.N, the innocent americans!

That Iraqi pilot mistook your warship as iranian, cause it was within iranian waters, now guess why, the peace, right?

That is false. We sold industrial and agriculteral chemicals, NONE of which the Iraqi's used in their chemical attacks. Iraq used,

"As part of Project 922, German firms such as Karl Kolb helped build Iraqi chemical weapons facilities such as laboratories, bunkers, an administrative building, and first production buildings in the early 1980s under the cover of a pesticide plant. Other German firms sent 1,027 tons of precursors of mustard gas, sarin, tabun, and tear gasses in all. This work allowed Iraq to produce 150 tons of mustard agent and 60 tons of Tabun in 1983 and 1984 respectively, continuing throughout the decade. All told, 52% of Iraq's international chemical weapon equipment was of German origin.".

The remainder of Iraq's chemical weapons and delivery system were mostly French, Chinese, Singaporean, and Brazilian. All fitted and training provided by Soviet Russian advisors. Again, the only actual weapons systems that the United States sold to either side in the war...was sold to Iran by us.

That Iraqi pilot mistook your warship as iranian, cause it was within iranian waters, now guess why, the peace, right?

1. The USS Stark was not only NOT in Iranian waters, it was sailing just off the Saudi Arabian coastline when attacked.

2. The USS Stark made a radio warning to the Iraqi Mirage F1 before the attack, to no avail.

3. The Iraqi's never gave any reason for the attack. Both the Stark's location plus her radio warning to the attacking pilot, leave little doubt that it was purely accidental. There is speculation that it may have been in retaliation for our having sold Iran weapons clandestinely. President Reagan finally admitting to the sale of weapons to Iran publicly, just weeks before the attack on the Stark.

you Gave Saddam satellite intel about iranian troop , you gave him technology and factories to convert those chemical into chemical weapons , you protected Saddam in UN when we complained there about the use of chemical weapons and your ambassador at the UN went o the extent that claimed it was not Saddam who used the chemical weapons but Iran used those weapons against Iranian cities and troops.

United States support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq war - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On February 9, 1994, Senator Riegle delivered a report -commonly known at the Riegle Report- in which it was stated that "pathogenic (meaning 'disease producing'), toxigenic (meaning 'poisonous'), and other biological research materials were exported to Iraq pursuant to application and licensing by the U.S. Department of Commerce." It added: "These exported biological materials were not attenuated or weakened and were capable of reproduction."[29]

According to German daily newspaper Die Tageszeitung, which is reported to have reviewed an uncensored copy of Iraq's 11,000-page declaration to the U.N. Security Council in 2002, almost 150 foreign companies supported Saddam Hussein's WMD program. Twenty-four U.S. firms were involved in exporting materials to Baghdad.[38] An even longer list of American companies and their involvements in Iraq was provided by the LA Weekly in May 2003.[39]]

Apparently you did not bother to read your own link. If you had, you would realize that it says absolutely NOTHING about the USA giving any "factories" to convert chemicals. Yes, through our allies we supplied Iraq with satellite imagery. We did not wish for either side to get the upper hand. Yes, we supplied Iraq with industrial and agricultural chemicals. None of which has EVER been proven nor any evidence provided that those chemicals were EVER weaponized and used against Iran. There was no need to as the Germans, French, Italians, Brazilians, and Soviets, and China, were providing ample chemicals and delivery systems that needed no manufacturing, Brazil and Germany providing large stocks of completed mustard gas, for example.

And there is not one single shred of proof that any of those biological materials were EVER used by Saddam against Iranian forces. Indeed, there is no reliable evidence that biological weapons were used at all and the only anecdotal evidence suggest second hand Soviet weapons in completed form but even there, there is no credible proof.

And again, and again, the materials that came from the United States you will find are ALWAYS classified as "dual use", i.e., they were agricultural and industrial chemicals and again and again, there is not one SHRED of credible evidence that ANY of those chemicals from the USA were ever weaponized and that would be logical as there was no need to since Iraq was receiving ample complete weapons grade material...

"As part of Project 922 (Saddam's final and most successful chemical weapons production project.), German firms such as Karl Kolb helped build Iraqi chemical weapons facilities such as laboratories, bunkers, an administrative building, and first production buildings in the early 1980s under the cover of a pesticide plant. "France also provided glass-lined reactors, tanks, vessels, and columns used for the production of chemical weapons. Around 21% of Iraq’s international chemical weapon equipment was French. 75,000 shells and rockets designed for chemical weapon use also came from Italy. About 100 tons of mustard gas also came from Brazil. Austria also provided heat exchangers, tanks, condensers, and columns for the Iraqi chemical weapons infrastructure, 16% of the international sales. Singapore gave 4,515 tons of precursors for VX, sarin, tabun, and mustard gasses to Iraq. The Dutch gave 4,261 tons of precursors for sarin, tabun, mustard, and tear gasses to Iraq. Egypt gave 2,400 tons of tabun and sarin precursors to Iraq and 28,500 tons of weapons designed for carrying chemical munitions. India gave 2,343 tons of precursors to VX, tabun, Sarin, and mustard gasses. Luxembourg gave Iraq 650 tons of mustard gas precursors. Spain gave Iraq 57,500 munitions designed for carrying chemical weapons. In addition, they provided reactors, condensers, columns and tanks for Iraq’s chemical warfare program, 4.4% of the international sales. China provided 45,000 munitions designed for chemical warfare."

As I posted before. And that article ONLY list the USA as having provided some "dual use" agricultural and industrial chemicals to Iraq along with things like computers and civilian aircraft navigation equipment but not one bullet, not one rifle, not one artillary peice, not one bomb, not one tank, not one combat aricraft was EVER supplied to Saddam by the USA. Not one. The ONLY country in that conflict that we supplied any actual weapons to....was your own. Iran.
