Iran carries operation to successfully release borderguards from captivity
Zahedan, Feb 3, IRNA -

Iran's intelligence forces carried a successful operation in southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan to release two borderguards abducted by Jaish al-Zolm terrorist group two years ago.

The operation was carried out on Tuesday night according to a public relations office of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces.

The border guards had been abducted by the counter-revolutionay group of Jaish al-Zolm in southeastern Iranian borders over two years ago.

In October, 2018, some 12 Iranian borderguards were abducted by terrorist group and transported to Pakistani soil.

Five of those 12 were delivered to Iran just month after the abduction.

In March the same year, four others were released according to IRGC commander.

Fact of the matter is this news is completely unconfirmed. We can come up with a few scenarios and its implications for the region.

1) Iran carried out operation in its own territory- Then this is a none issue

2) Iran carried out operation in Pakistan territory

A) Pakistani military had knowledge and allowed it- Then this is a sign of growing cooperation

B) Iran carried out the operation without Pakistani knowledge- Then Pakistan will no doubt revaluate its relation with Iran including the cost/benefit aspect.

So far good relations with Iran while ignoring the Gulf/Israel has not yielded any benefit for Pakistan. Even if Pakistan stationed lets say 100k soldiers backed by massive military equipment at Irans border than that would be a much bigger threat to Iran than Israel/KSA combined. Im sure that is something Iran would never want.

Zia did the same Musharaf did the same. Any like minded leader of Pakistan knows the jahils in our midsts. There has and always will be close intelligence cooperation between the 2, you and anyone else can continue to deny this.
Whether Pakistan normalizes with Israel or not (there is no indication there is any chance of normalization any time soon), it will not be to confront Iran or form any kind of alliance against it.

Pakistan has attempted to balance its relations with the GCC monarchies with its relationship with Iran, and refused to be drawn into the Yemen war and take sides, so it beggars belief that Pakistan would side against Iran on the behest of Israel. Pakistan shares a border, cultural and religious ties with Iran, not Israel. Pakistan's future is with a cooperative relationship with Iran and while Pakistan will continue to act to neutralize any entities (Shia or Sunni) that might be involved in sectarian terrorism, that does not mean it will also not continue to build and improve its relationship with the Iranians & Saudis and use various means to convince them to change their policies.

It would benefit Pakistan and the world that Irans regime stops interfering in other countries including Pakistan where it has spread unrest and sponsored Shia terror groups to the point where genocide is committed. Also Iran is not an innocent country. They preach against Israel but how are they any different. Infact Israelis are much more humane to their treatment of ISRAELI arab sunnis than Iran is of their own Sunni population.

They have directly backed the genocidal killing of Sunnis in Iraq and Syria. Please look at the condition of Mosul or Hama today and tell those people that Iran is innocent. In All honesty the Iranian regime controled by the IRGC has become a pyscho that does not realize the damage they are causing to other nations, and even their own people.

God forbid one day Karachi or Lahore there be a genocide of Sunnis by IRGC and its militias....

I love how people here are talking about Pakistan getting air superiority and wiping out Iran while our Foreign Office doesn't even have the balls to issue a clear press statement. Nice.
Ever heard the expression, "not dignifying this b.s. with a response"..?

Agreed. Iran can easily be and should be a partner for peaceful progress with Pakistan, but the leadership needs to calm down with the nation building. In particular, whatever fun and games they're engaged in in foreign lands using brainwashed Pakistani civilians needs to be brought to a halt.

I would say at this point it is for the Pakistani bravehearts to take things into their own hands. I am advocating for a Nationalistic Militia Force in Pakistan. This militia should be self organized and equipped with infantry weaponery. This Militias only ideology should be Pakistani Nationalism and serving Pakistani Interest. They should be deployed in Balochistan and Kashmir. If our govt or military is incapable then the people themselves will have to organize themselves. This is allowed and even advocated in powerful nations such as US, Russia, China so why cant we do the same?

We need our own Young Turks and Basij or our people are uselesss

Our military is more than capable. We don't even need reminding of this. Your sentiments are in the right place though.

Well the Foreign Office did state that ''they would revert with accurate details'' and from what i can tell there have been no updates given out yet. If it was the case surely they would have just denied it from the get go.

I think the PAF/PN are capable and manned by brave people But I do not think the same of the PA under Bajwa. Bajwa seems to be mentally ill and just yesterdays called for peace with India.

Having a large nationalistic militia would provide benefits as a pressure group. The militia would be able to pressure politicians and military officials to toe more nationalistic lines.

For example if their are anti-pak politicians as abudant in the PMLN PPP etc then the militia can be used to pressure such parties to dump such politicians and fill the govt/assembly with nationalistic no matter which party they are in.

Eventually militia leaders would be able to occupy key military posts and even gain the sympathy of top generals. This is done in every nation from Israel to US to even Iran. This is how people project their power other than the ballot.

Valid points but the solution is simple reform where needed in PA.

They also didn't release all details of the downed SU30 a year ago.

Sometimes, allowing bullcrap to float a little while helps expose enemy elements who have hitherto remained concealed.

Pakistan knows how to bait ignoramuses into making themselves known.

Do you honestly think Iran can "carry out an operation" in Pakistan without Pakistan's blessing? IRGC can hardly protect their assets in Iran, never mind abroad.

That PA hasn't "liberated" those poor grunts themselves is simply because no incentive to do so ever existed. We've liberated soldiers of the same unit in the past after they got themselves in a mess - did Pakistan get any assurances in return that IRGC would desist from kidnapping and brainwashing Pakistani civilians for their own Machiavellian schemes?

Let's be clear - it's not that PA cannot toast a few terrorists to liberate a bunch of gangsters. The point is - why bother?

testing our limits...i hope in future we will be doing the same thing whenever they massacre hazaras or provide sanctuaries to our most wanted terrorists. its time to tell them enough is enough. btw which elite revoloutionary guards they are talking about the same ones who could brake a vase.
Did you even read the article?

Nope. Continue propagating this and the forum will consider this advocacy and support for terrorism.

Only the State can have a monopoly on violence. ANY militia or other armed group MUST be authorized by the State and function under clear guidelines provided by the State and be subject to dissolution and neutralization in the case of those guidelines being violated.

ANY further support or comments on these lines, of any militia or other force organized without the consent and specific authorization of the government of Pakistan, and this goes to those of you who liked his post, will be reported to all relevant authorities as support for terrorism.
