Iran Building Copy Of Captured US Drone

If you read the article you will see that they already have reserve engineered it.
5-10 years my ***.
To be fair, reserve engineering just means they know how drone and its systems works, but to be able to replicate the technology and materials may take some time. For example, even if Iran would get F-22 blueprints today, they wouldnt be able to build the fighter for quite some time.

In any case, its great Iran completely cracked the drone, and will be able to use some of the gained knowledge right away on their own drones. I dont expect exact copy of RQ-170 in the near future though.

P.S. I do remember how Americans were claiming Iran wont be able to crack the drone security, what they'll say now? :meeting:

Its called reverse engineering.

. .
How will they build copy of RQ-170 when RQ-170 was crashed to the ground.. impossible...

sorry, my dyslexia at work.

who said it crashed to the ground? the americans?
lol.gif

. . .
hmm its good but iran is giving usa another reason to attack it. usa will not let this tech go to iran or china or russia or india.

and the first dumb comment of the thread award goes to an Indian, surprise surprise lol

where have you been for the past year?

The drone was brought down and Iran provided a video of it which was later confirmed.
Obama later asked Iran to return it lmao

Really? but then why did some of the american official say Iran brought this down by hacking into it's GPS system and so on?
america came up with some weird excuses why it went down.
More like Iranians have been very creative in explaining how this aircraft went down.

Because GPS is only a downlink which is open to all who are listening to it.
Correct. But there is no such thing as a 'downlink'. Stop trying to pretend you know what you are talking about.

But the drone itself can not transmit anything so there is no remote control or video link from a stealth drone to control it. It is all pre-programmed in drone computer and the drone runs the mission all by itself. That allowed Iran to hack since the drone was completely alone and Americans had no connection with it. Iranians corrupted the GPS signal and made the drone to believe that it was landing back in its base in Afghanistan while in reality it was landing in an Iranian air strip.
All wrong.

. . . .
Bottom line is that Iran will have one of the most sophisticated drones with its 21st century technology, to play with, reverse engineer all of its parts, use them as per need and field new aerospace technology; UAVs, Drones UCAVs and more.
Everyone can see that the benefits are tremendous for Iran.

This is more news for Domestic consumption. Iran is a master propaganda state and I love their rhetoric but the ground realities are totally different.

. .
Have you inspected "ground realities" yourself to form that opinion?

No but I have seen the kind of weapons that Iran has fielded.

And the kind of weapons that Iran had before the revolution such as the F-14 Tomcat and still Iran hasn't been able to duplicate it. Is it any wonder why this 1970's era plane is still flying in the Iranian Air Force.

So I am highly doubtful of their claims that they can reverse engineer this Drone with such sophisticated technology and microchips and sensors. The best they could have done is somehow figure out to the read the data collected in its Hard drive.
