Iran building 'anti-terror' fence on Pakistan border

Iran is building a fence on its border with Pakistan to keep out terrorists, defence minister Ahmad Vahidi has said. The barrier is being built on "impenetrable mountainous terrain" in southeastern Iran to "prevent villains from crossing into the Islamic Republic", IRNA news agency quoted him as saying on Thursday.

Members of the Iranian insurgent group Jundullah, which is based in Pakistan's Balochistan province, have reportedly been crossing into Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province to carry out terrorist attacks.

Jundullah leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iranian authorities in February 2010 and executed in June.

A fence will not be able to stop anyone unless it is guarded all the way.

That would mean deploying their Army along the fence.

Are they doing it?

Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi says the country is rapidly constructing a fence on its border with Pakistan.

“Barrier and road construction along the border [with Pakistan] is being carried out in the impenetrable mountainous terrain [in southeastern Iran] with precision and quality,” Vahidi was quoted by IRNA as saying on Thursday.

The Iranian defense minister said the border barrier would prevent villains from crossing into the Islamic Republic and would help the region realize its economic potentials.

The Pakistan-based group Jundullah has been known to cross into Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province to carry out terrorist attacks.

On December 15, a terrorist attack took place at the Imam Hussein Mosque in the province's Chabahar city, where people were commemorating the martyrdom of the third Shia apostle, Imam Hussein (PBUH).

Jundullah leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in February 2010 and executed in June for 79 counts of crimes, including armed robbery, bombing operations and armed attacks on police and civilians.

SO TRUE ... OUR BORDER IS LIVE EXAMPLE.... EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE SO MANY MEASURES TO CHECK TERRORIST , SO HOW THEY SNEAK IN ....

I wish they had fenced the border when Indian embassies on border of Baluchistan were supplying arms and training to Bugti Army.

Today the number of Indian embassies on Baluchistan border have been reduced to 2-3, one in Zahedan being the head quarter of terrorism in Pakistani Baluchistan.

And now the truth; Pakistan is a dysfunctional American vassal state. You only wish you could be like Iran.

No thanks.

"prevent villains from crossing into the Islamic Republic"

Only if it prevents villains from crossing both sides of the border.

Iran needs better ministers and military.

Making such statements will isolate them more.
