Iran Bans English in Primary Schools - Reports

Iranians are generally very well educated so I don't see what the fuss is about. English cannot be escaped people will learn it as its the language of tech.

Excellent news. Another step to grave for this pagan regime.
Your kind (Jewish fundamentalist) want to believe that Persia is still the paganistic society of the Babylonian exile and have pantheon of gods and goddess they believe in. Why it is so hard for you guys to accept that majority of Persians are muslims now believing in the single God, the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Issac and Jacob and their descendants. Take your divisive agenda somewhere else.

Fine fine. Now they need to ban those unibrows and widespread abuse of silicon.

I am talking about their regime. They have more Khamenai posters in Iran, than Kim Jong il in North Korea.

While being wrong, it still does not make the nation paganistic.

The problem with your kind is that you think everything happening in Iran is made in khamenei's mind o_O there are more than 2 million people are working in our education system and they are deciding how to run it .
Arabic has million dialects man spoken in respective region. A saudi arabi dialect will be so diff from kuwaiti dialect. Infect kuwaiti one is the hardest of all. Bookish arabic is worlds apart from arabic spoken in entire arab worldd, whether morrocco, llibya saudia, kuwait, bahrain etc etc.
But iranians grasp arabic faster than pakistanis.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has reportedly said that early learning of the English language paves the way for the West's "cultural invasion" of Iran.

The head of the state-run High Education Council, Mehdi Navid-Adham, said to local TV on Sunday that English classes in primary schools are "against laws and regulations." He added that English was no longer part of the educational curriculum. High school students will keep learning English, the official added.

Accroding to Mehdi Navid-Adham, primary schools will now focus on the Farsi language and classes of Iranian culture.

The news comes after an announcement from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps regarding recent protests. The Revolutionary Guard declared that the demonstrations had been orchestrated with the help of external forces, including the United States and Britain, and had been successfully suppressed.

Earlier in January, Iranian Ambassador to the United Nations Gholam Ali Khoshroo said during an emergency UN Security Council meeting that Tehran had "hard evidence" proving protests were "directed from abroad." The meeting was called by the US, which has repeatedly accused Iranian authorities of cracking down on pro-democracy protesters.

A wave of protests has swept across the country in recent weeks, with thousands of people taking part in demonstrations. At least 21 people have been killed and over 400 hundred more arrested as a result of the unrest. However, most of those detained have been subsequently released, according to sources in police.

Reports of the ban have already aroused reaction on social networks.

Few years ago they changed the system and since then I think they add english class to 6th grade ( I'm not sure )

In our case we had 5 years primary/elementary school but today kids need to stay 6 years in primary.
5 years primary + 3 years middle school + 3+1 high school ( 5 3 3 1 our case older system )
today its 6 years primary + 3 years middle school + 3 years high school ( 6 3 3 today format)

We had English books at 7th grade ( dovom rahnamae ) expect few SAMPAD schools that had English books for 6th graders .
I think its all related to changing the old format and that's the reason why we have English books in primary .

After all in our case we had 2 years English in mid school and 3+1 in high school in total we had 5 or 6 years English and Arabic lessons. that's too much in my opinion for these two languages .

We need to change current system . just show some love for other people and add their languages in our education system .
