Iran army starts off massive drill [PIC]

Interesting you people carry out such large military drill to scare off few smugglers.

We didn't. A forum member said that, not Iranian officials.

Reversed engineered US Cobra firing unguided rockets, certainly not looks impressive.

Not reverse engineered, original cobra. Unguided rockets have their own place in warfare.

Most of the US supplied system now being produced in Iran under new name with crude technology.

I'm sure you know all about Iranian weapons.

Iranian army launched a military drill codenamed “Beit-ul-Muqaddas 28" to test-fire new missiles and rockets on Sunday.
“The drill would be operated in three stages, two of which are scheduled to get complete today in Maranjab and Aran Bidgol region,” said Ali Mehrabi, Operational Deputy of Iran Army Ground Forces (NEZAJA) on Saturday.
Adding that the third stage of the drill would be exercised in Isfahan, Mehrabi underlined “accuracy and rapidity are the prominent factors in military operations and we are also trying to reach these aims.”
“NEZAJA would test-fire eight missiles and rockets during the military exercises today,” he announced.

I saw what looked like the F-14 Tomcat still being flown despite being at least 45 years old jets. There are some antique collectors who will be very interested in buying them. Look them up on Google.

Lol you worry about your non existent military strategies when spending billions to "fight" sandal fighters and we'll worry about our completely overhauled jets where every inch of it is Iranian by now.

You keep doing what you do best, which is spending to keep your overlords happy. In 10 year time we have added fighter jets to the list of made in Iran products and your broke country will be ripe for regime change. Vasall states have an expiration date you know.

Once you add your locally manafactured fighter jets to your aresenal, you will be able to send the F14s to where they belong "Tehran Military Musuem". Up until that time, you just have an obselete air force. Plain and simple.

The F 15 is still being used by the US Air Force, Japanese Air Force, Israel Air Force, and KSA's Air Force. So your comparsion of it with the obelete F 14 is so beautiful which no one operates excpet the Mullahs Air Force.

The only reason that Iran is under arms sanctions while Saudi Arabia gets $350 Billion in U.S arms deals is because the Americans know that unlike Iran, the Saudis pose 0 treat to Israel!

Tells the guy from the country that is importanting 80% of her food! Funny

Saudi Kingdom imports 80% of food products

Saudi Arabia is importing 80 percent of its food requirements from foreign countries while the remaining 20 percent of foods are locally produced, local media said quoting a report released by the World Bank.
On average, the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries are importing 90 percent of food products from other countries. Qatar topped the GCC in terms of their dependence on foreign imports at 97 percent, followed by Bahrain at 92 percent, Kuwait (91 percent), and the UAE and Oman at 89 percent each, the report said.
Meanwhile, experts said political developments in Ukraine have a negative impact on the prices of agro commodities, as it produces 16 percent and 9 percent of global maize and wheat exports, respectively, the report said.
Accordingly, prices of maize and wheat have increased by 20 percent and 13.5 percent since the beginning of the current year, the report said.
On the other hand, the rate of self-sufficiency in the GCC countries is expected to drop in the next few years. The cost of supporting wheat production in Saudi Arabia exceeded SR5 billion annually in the period 1984-2000, the report said.
Poor soil condition, water scarcity and bad weather conditions have raised wheat production costs to become four times higher than global levels though the Kingdom remained the 6th largest wheat exporter in 1992, according to the report.
However, due to depletion of ground water by farmers, the Saudi authorities were forced to abandon the policy of increasing domestic production and, accordingly, production began to decline as from 2008 and expected to cease fully by 2016, the report said.
Taking into consideration the above facts, development of a sustainable agro sector is highly costly and ineffective, and the GCC countries have to look for other alternatives to increase food security, the exports said.
Among these alternatives are storing food products and acquisition of agro lands outside the region. Africa, notably the Sudan, captured the concern of investors, be they individuals or corporate.
The GCC investors purchased more than 2 million hectares of lands in the Sudan between 2006 and 2012, or three times of lands they bought in Australia, the second largest recipient of Gulf investments, the report said.

You can make a museum in Riyadh with your various types of camels.

Anyway for your info many countries still use old fighters. For examples Turkey still is using F-4 fighters. I'm not sure if you know anything about F-14 fighter jets militarily or not but F-14 is one of best ever fighter jets in Iranian, American fleets.

Iranian F-14s reportedly shot down at least 160 Iraqi aircraft during the war, while only 12 to 16 Tomcats were lost; at least half of these losses were due to accidents.[2][3]

The Tomcat was retired from the U.S. Navy's active fleet on 22 September 2006, having been supplanted by the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.[4] The F-14 remains in service with the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, having been exported to Iran in 1976.

Ahh,you do realise that the f14 was only ever operated by 2 services to begin with, the us navy and the iiaf/iriaf.You also might want to do a little research on the f14,its history and capabilities, you might then realise just what a truly formidable machine it was,and still is for that matter, now if only iran would complete the "M" series upgrades on the rest of the f14 fleet.
